I can't label anyone dumb.... Challenges are mount to come anytime... Set backs happen, unknown enemies,unfriendly friends,sometimes family crisis.... The caption is really not nice, you can't call them dumb because of their situation. Who is that perfect man? Some of us are yet to reach where we've planed to reach at this particular time because of one thing or the other. You invested, but it crashes, you planted but something came up and eat them up. Some of these people were destroyed by their family, so you can't blame them neither should you ever call them dumb.
Growing up in Kenya and watching these players in the field for both their clubs and country was always inspiring for me and it's sad to see them in this way. However, l think to label them dumb is a bit harsh.
Thank you very much. I think it’s most unfortunate language to use. Everybody in this planet is one bad decision away from going broke, including the person that uploaded this video. Rather than use this kind of language to describe them, we should empathize with them and strive to find ways of rehabilitating them.

@@israelnwanne8401Sir, even some billionaires in this world have gone bankrupt due to bad investment somewhere. Investment is not surety ticket to success b ut the skills required. Everyone has had a dumb moment at some point in life which majority of us is mostly in small magnitude "fortunately". It's how you learn from that experience what matters. Not here to judge anyone, but it good to understand that a career in football/ sports isn't that long. When you make so much in such a short time, save & invest. You can also switch to other profitable professions as well utilize your fame adequately.
The inclusion of Femi Opabunmi and Wilson Oruma on this list is dumb itself. Opabunmi never played for any top club and he didn't squander the little money he made, rather he spent it on trying to find a cure for his blindness which had prematurely ended his career even before he turned 25 years old. In the case of Wilson Orums he was duped of his entire life savings by a fake pastor who promised him it would be invested in a shipping business. His plight is a bit similar to that of Jonathan Akpoborie, but in Akpoborie's case he was able to bounce back financially. Do better research if you're serious about growing your channel. I would have subscribed if it wasn't for the fact that this list has so many inaccuracies and outright lies in it.

I worked with most of these heroes as a journalist and football manager in Nigeria before moving to Australia in 2000. Perhaps, they may have assisted some people including family members with their money. Since you are interested in them, can you find out if they were really dumb or helped anyone to grow. This is what is called a 'balance analysis'.

They are not millionaires bro. I resides in same estate as Wilson Oruma in VGC. He is practically begging then cos everyone abandoned him. He was infact looking like a mad man. The luck he has was that the house was his own not rented. People practically started contributing money for him. He case was a bit touching cos he was scammed in a oil deal with 850m naira. But most of the ex footballers live extravagant lifestyle that is not sustainable.

The government of Nigerian should have given them heroes retirement package because the hundreds of billions and trillions of Naira that government officials and politicians (who don't even serve Nigeria well) os enough to uplift all those former footballers who went broke. The condition for the help could be that they must invest in rural areas such as in farming/agriculture or partner with local investors to create jobs.
I strongly disagree with you. Nigeria government paid them anytime that they represented Nigeria so it is left to them to invest their money or do whatever they like. Nigeria government has a lot of citizens that never had opportunity to get education or make money, those need more help from the government not those who miss used their money.
