The leaden skies and associated rain droplets of my historical motorcycling days while living in Scotland were re - awakened with this video. A long forgotten rain drenched early incident in Dunkeld was resurrected, 1969, just crossed the swollen River Tay from Birnam and found that I could not quite outbrake the coach I was following. The drum brakes on my 1957 Triumph Speed Twin 5TA were drenched and less effective than usual. However, the collision was nearly negligible. Front wheel into the coach's rear bumper which caused the front mudguard to descend onto the same structure. Can visualise now so very clearly. No actual damage and did not fall off the bike. A later Honda CX500, early model, stainless steel un sintered discs, also wasn't impressed with Scotland's rain drenched conditions. Things improved by turn of the century, BMW K1100RS, better all round, fitted with higher screen, but a real hernia machine unless you were a 6 foot meat eater. Now my thrills come from a Yamaha Town mate T80.. Your time will come...
