I know what you mean I was in class at the time at the Dumfries and Galloway College out of a Window we noticed the storm of the snow is getting worse and worse it looked like it wasn't going to stop and it certainly didn't I got to the point where the whole of Dumfries and Galloway was in complete standstill trucks vehicles everything was stuck here there and everywhere it was absolute Madness I can tell you one thing though it was crazy how quiet it was that day you could hear sounds in the distance that you normally wouldn't it was really bizarre and very very eerie
I can remember the snow was so deep in February 1996. I was still living at my parents house in the countryside about 10 miles from Dumfries and 4 miles from Lockerbie and we were cut off and stuck in the house from the Monday through until the Thursday. To give you an idea of just how bad it got, Queen Street in Dumfries was on the front page of the Daily Telegraph!!! Or the Daily Torygraph as it's aka.😬😠😡😱☹😭😖
Yeah funny you say that because the last women to be hung in Dumfries in 1868 was photographed and stuck on the newspaper by London Tory’s . Sick world the lady said no my weans no my weans when she was hung outside the court in Dumfries
