But this time you by mistake discredited bubble 3 times. 1) Conditional tab allows to set dynamic parameters to almost any static appearance and layout tabs parameters. 2) actions can be rearranged by simply drag and drop 3) conditional logic is easily set in actions layer via only when expressions.
Let's not forget that bubble was the one started the no code revolution way back even when there were no significant advancements in coding & software development....we should be thankful for this game changing initiative from the bubble founders....
The logic and workflow in Bubble are much clearer than in FF. I've struggled for weeks in FF with tasks that I could accomplish in Bubble within 10 minutes. I sought out online courses explaining advanced logic in FF, but most focus on design and don't delve deeply into FF actions. Conversely, there are many comprehensive Bubble courses teaching how to replicate the full functionality of well-known apps with lucid explanations of logic. The equivalents in FF are quite limited in functionality, as if the developers recognize certain tasks might be unfeasible in FF. Perhaps in a few years, FF will mature in terms of actions/workflow, making it an opportune time to consider migration.
I'm wanting to focus on Mobile Apps that run "natively" in iOS Smartphones & iPADS. Android equivalent secondary. It has bugged me for some years that the whole industry is using the very generic APP term for Everything -- desktop, web sites, smartphones, progressive web apps, etc. It really has muddied the waters when it comes to searching for "app development" topics. Have you developed PHONE & TABLET natively running Applications in Bubble? You are pointing out an area that I very much want to pursue -- FUNCTIONS & the LOGIC for more sophisticated dynamic "applications". I'm used to years of PHP/MySQL browser run websites with forms, authentication of users, some javascript, jquery, database queries, etc. So, from what I have seen in videos I would probably feel at home in Bubble. But Flutter is written in Dart, a completely different language. When you speak of "well-known apps" are you not specifically referring to Browser required "applications" that require keeping an internet connection open to operate? So when you refer to "equivalents in FF are quite limited in functionality" are you really speaking of the ease which YOU while developing have in assembling functional components in Bubble? From the latest release of FlutterFlow I am a bit skeptical that the actual FUNCTIONALITY needed for a complex "app" to work for the User is "missing". FlutterFlow does start out assuming the User is building Apps for Smart Devices which will install into a smart phone, tablet, or watch, first. Would you take the time to point out, for instance "certain tasks might be unfeasible in FF"? You have me very interested in your post because LUCID EXPLANATIONS OF LOGIC are my #1 Quest, since I am a step-by-step Visual learner!
I like Bubble for some small projects / businesses to deliver fast and cause a fast good impressions, and is good for non IT people. They are the biggest one mainly because they were the first in the industry but nowadays with the massive variety of good no-code tools that we have at our disposal, the locked code is something bigger than it were in the past and they should review this. Same old story, there is not a perfect tool for everything, but the right tool for the task.
Some of your commentary on bubble is inaccurate, eg. Cannot rearrange actions in a workflow. They’re drag and drop. What’s easier? And you say the appearance cannot be changed dynamically, untrue. Conditionals do that easily. You’re not being balanced here. Also, bubble really is for no code, whereas FF is for people who understand expressions and functions. Different audiences.
