I'm watching from the cab of my FreightShaker in a truckstop whilst having no freight on the wagon because in 22yrs(10yrs O/O) I've NEVER seen the rates so low and freight so scarce. So I'm looking to retire from OTR and why I'm researching the transition my business to dump truck operation. Thank you for taking the time to create a valuable info video.
I'm looking into buying a old dump truck I'm coming from driving the concrete mixer for 10 years I have talked with a few of the contractors that I currently pour for. I appreciate your insight and knowledge. Thank you for making videos
Hey man will be purchasing my first dump truck next week. Wondering if you’d do video on your office side of things. I think I have the work license and what not figured out just wondering how you keep track of everything billing and maintenance wise. I’ll also be hiring a driver so if you have anything on payroll it would be greatly appreciated as well.
That’s way too much money for a truck man… me and pops just bought 3 2017-2018 Pete 389s for $98k each and are converting them into dumps the right way. Double frame, all new grade 8 hardware, 4’ between the cab and box. After all parts it’s around $140k into each truck (we’re doing all the labor ourselves). Idk how people can go out and pay the price of a house for a truck
So used or new,.the maintenance issues can be the same . Downfall of used is mechanical issues=downtime!800-1000/day. Downfall of New-$$$$$$$. Both can be bad. I ordered a new truck for my second year because of all the issues of used.
