Oh and the best thing I found was £356 worth of matching bedding still in the zip bags , but I've had every thing from a box of 40 batteries to 38 big chocolate bars (still in date) , I've had kettles , lights and more bedding than you could shake a stick at . I've supplied 6 textiles teachers with materials for kids who can't afford it for their school work and 8 girls last year got As for their A levels making 1950s dresses out of bed linen or curtain . I supplied a theatre group with materials for costume and any one whose house I see using bedding for curtains gets an enormous gift of a pair . It makes me smile when I walk past. Donating is such fun keep it up x

I was very independent, and worked (and still do work) hard for everything I have. Bc I had to I had no one else to depend on. Even my now husband when we were just engaged was like you have to learn to depend on me it’s ok too... but it was so hard for me to do that bc I was always scared if I did then I’d be left with nothing to call my own if he’d leave me. But here we are years upon years later & he’s still here & is the best husband ever 🥰... but I am teaching my girls to be very independent as well because I know just how crazy fast things in your life can be turned upside down...
I would totally keep the jumpsuit for myself and wear it dumpster diving with my boots to keep my clothes clean and keep myself dry that’s an awesome find. Also my favorite find yet dumpster diving would be yesterday at Big Lots found a Sealy king size mattress tags still on it still in the plastic and they only cut it up a little bit but I’m going to buy a mattress case where it will fit over the whole mattress and zip up and you can never tell anything happen to it and it’s brand spanking new still in big lots for $699. I have been going back to watching the older videos. I can absolutely understand more about you now. You have shown in all your videos what an amazing woman you are! You are so compassionate and I love feeling like we are family. People do not really understand how much work goes into dumpster diving and splitting up our treasures to share with other people and outreach programs. Thank you for your hard work!
I dumpster dive I ever found anything to big but I did find a dumpster full of brand new cases of cleaners, totes that was not broken, dishes, and other household items I filled my car and had to call my husband and filled his truck. Go back the next day and there was so much more stuff like that for four days in a row.that the first i got caught out. The manager said it was fine he's just happy to get the room to throw more stuff out
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! Great Score!! The greatest thing I ever found in a dumpster was a puppy. I rescued her outta that dumpster, brought her home, gave her a bath, and the neighbors sister (who was visiting her next door to me) fell in love with her n took her home! That was years ago but still by far was my most precious find!
I would have to say a score at party city of boxes of toys, etc. that I gave to my grandson to throw off the Mardi Gras float! Also, a Yankee candle score!! Love ya, kiddo!!

Shannon when you talked about your childhood you took me back 40 plus years. I was raised by a raging alcoholic who just so happened to be my mom. I woke up too many times from the time I was 5-6 all the way until I was 12 with her nowhere to be found. I would sometimes go up to 2 weeks that I would not see her. She would have fallen in love again and I would be forgotten again. My grandmother took me when I was 12 and raised me after that. I have always enjoyed your channel, but now I do even more. You are kind and generous with your actions and deeds.
Oh I’m so sorry u had to deal with that also. And I can relate my mom also would leave sometimes for weeks at a time. But it def made me the strong person I am today ❤️
@@dumpsterdivingmommaof2 it has also made you a kind person Shannon. When kids grow up like this some follow in the footsteps, but then others take that lesson and add it to their life toolbox. I am so far from perfect it’s not funny, but I tried to always make sure my daughter knew she was not an afterthought. Her growing up happy, safe, and with a sense of security was my main goal. It may sound odd, but I would not change one minute of my childhood. Parts were awful, but they made me into the woman I am, and I like me. I am strong, self sufficient, and blessed to have a husband who loves me for all of my crazy ideas and faults. I have said it before Shannon, but again, you sparkle. @irishlass5160 I think I can safely say that you are a Warrior Princess! My mom brought “uncles” home too. And yes I know what you mean about the interest. I was very good at disappearing. I found my love again when I was in my late thirties, (we had dated in high school)we got married when I was 46. Love hearing from women who have taken their lives back. Who grew up in a broken environment, but did not break, or at least not break fully. We can survive, we can mend, and we can grow to our full potential not matter what gets thrown at us. 🥰🥰🥰
Your stories sound a lot like mine! Alcoholic Mom, boyfriend of the moment, weeks of being left alone at a young age. It made me.grow up fast! I became the parent! It made me grow up strong and independent. I married when I was 22 to the most amazing man. I was so independent that it was hard for me to count on anyone, even him. He became my strength, when I did put all my trust in him It was a whole new set of issues LOL Not bad issues. Just me "needing" him all the time. I'm sure you ladies know what I mean. Then, I had 3 daughters of my own and I was (and still am) a VERY protective Momma!. They are grown with children of their own now. I have 4 grandsons and 1 grand daughter. I am overly protective of my grand daughter! Not that I don't feel that way for my boys, but knowing the things girls have deal with well, yeah! My daughters are beautiful ppl inside and out. Girl I had to stop right in the middle of the video and make this post all I can tell you is what an amazing woman mother and I'm sure great wife that you are you have a big heart if you give back so much I can relate to your story if there is any blessing and what you went through as a child is you were determined to make a difference when you became a mom! Your children will never understand what you went through because you have went beyond the Call of Duty to make a difference in their life they don't realize how truly blessed they are to have you as a mom I know these videos are about dumpster diving but you never know when you're being a light in a dark world giving other people hope never hesitate to share your stories because you sure touch my heart God bless you my friend
Wow Shannon..your story is so sad .I was adopted when I was five and came from a neglected home where we kids were starved and left on our own for days..a neighbor reported it and we were saved and I was blessed to be adopted by a wonderful loving family ...it reminded me of those awful days..you got some great stuff .if I had toys for your co-workers I would donate toys to them but I am to far awaynntell them to check around there are organization and churches that help with the giving of toys for needy children and also with food for Christmas..you are so wonderful to help and such a kind soul..everyone needs a friend like u..I am 70 now but remember hard times to..I have to have my Shannon fix lol..I look forward to every video and u are my top one..I am not happy till I see yours..I have watched others but u are my favorite..God bless..to you and your family..

I was adopted into a abusive family and both of parents gone. God can judge what they did to my brother and I . I’m happy for the family I have now. Married 36 yrs , 3 grown kids 4 grandkids and one more coming. GodBless your family Shannon!

I know we’re you come from with your child hood. My was the same as yours. But it was a lot more then drinking. We did come out on top. Lol my first diving I got so much candy. It took me weeks to give it away. Now I have to find some one to go with me.
I found sitting on top in a dumpster 10 raincoats all sizes for dogs. Still on hangers. I let family pick then gave the rest to a homeless place. Someone thanked me because they had a tiny dog and they found a raincoat for it. I have found dog food cat food and bird food. And donated it all. I always clean and check for recalls. Haven’t jumped in yet, but if I must, I would. Love your Channel

PS best thing found in the dumpster an entire set of baby items in 1 day - a stroller. A hi chair & baby chairs. Also another day found a beautiful rolling large black suitcase which we gave to my daughter for her university trip to NYU. We live in California n she got her online masters from NYU n needed nice luggage!! Scored!!

hi Shannon ....just want to say on behalf of those who also struggle to provide for their children thank you for thinking of them at this time. if more of us helped her we could the world would be soo much brighter and less grey and have some light at the end of the tunnel. so again thank you lets hope you find someone higher ends things that will really make there Christmas extra special! Wish I had the money to help buy a couple of extra-special gifts for your co-worker's children.
The best thing me and my grandson found was last yr right before thanksgiving at a shoe store we got about 30 pair of new tennis shoes from little to big size 13,all name brand,my family all got a pair and then we donated the rest to our church.we said this yr we would keep an eye out the week before thansgiving but we where confined to our homes because someone in my grandsons room came up with covert19 so to be safe all family members stayed home 7 days and all tested negative. Praise God!! Today a day after Thanksgiving we went back to the dumpester just to see and no shoes.But we will never forget that great score.After today getting caught by security guard it's nice to look back at what we have found.Thanks Shannon it was you who got me going.Fromkaren in okla have a blessed night!!
That's a sad story Shannon. We had a hard life growing up too. It made me a hard worker and made me appreciate everything I have now. U r such a good person in spite of hard life lessons.

Happy thanksgiving omg you brought some memories back to me from my own childhood my mum died when I was eight and father was an alcoholic left home as soon as I could but did look after him in later years as he lost his legs due to the drinking I always remember one of the neighbour s saying after all he put my brother and I through no one could believe we would ever come back and she was crying but nevertheless like yourself we grew up stronger people thank you for getting toys for your co-worker no kid should be without a gift from Santa keep up the good work 😁

Hope your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I 💘 dumpster diving & one of my best finds was a garbage bag of sealed boxes of Russell Stover & Whitman Samplers. I shared them with some very happy family members.
I work retail and I’ve caught divers before, yes I have to ask them to leave. Especially if I want to keep working. But, I never knew diving was such a thing, I always felt bad for those who I figured had to dive if they wanted to eat. Unfortunately I’m sure there are some who have to dive for food. I’m surprised at myself because if I were 20 yrs younger and in better health I’d love to dumpster dive. I would also donate what I got to those in need. At my age there’s no way I could even climb to get into a dumpster 😂 Thank you Shannon for all that you do for others!
