In our area, pretty much every public library has a "friend of the library" chapter which will accept books, DVD's, vynil, etc... In turn they sell the items for a nominal price and the funds go towards what they've decided as good works projects for 5hat specific library. Eachnl8brary and chapter decides what that will be.
Hi Terry, mines won't take anymore from me they are now overstocked because of me. I would take DVD's Blu-ray and CD's. Don't get me wrong they are thankful but can't store anymore.
@@rayeverydaydiver7425 i get you .... 30 plus years ago, I knew a couple who cleaned houses in some upscale neighborhoods a bit out of our area and, I had a truck. The slippery slope began with: a client's remodel; a very, very nice HUGE refrigerator; the search for someone "reputable" and didn't mind a Sat pu when the family was home; minimal cost but ideally to some place that could use it. I had the truck and would do it but asked for a week's time during which I worked with someone I knew at a private social service agency. They had NO STORAGE but a number of clients in different levels of need; and no existing list of people needing things like fridges. Within a week, we got an ad hoc system of sorts going by which I would call in with what was avaliable, the general intake worker would identify "takers" then assist in coordinating a direct drop off. She also arranged for some sort of tax deduct system which made the "givers" all the more delighted. Of course conversations about that first fridge led to networking and I got quite a few remodel based freebies from one part of the area into another more economically challenged part of the area until there was a switch of staff and intake workers. - Not a one of those items was stored at or with the agency.
