Europe isn't as sue happy as Americans are. That's part of the reason that business don't donate food.

Agree wholeheartedly they should give it to charities. You know the stores write it off (count it as a loss) of their taxes anyway!

US stores are afraid of the ambulance chasing lawyers waiting to sue for anything they can. "My client got a paper cut off of the cereal package you donated. Give us a million bucks . So sorry.

All my husbands jeans are worn and torn on the right pocket due to his tape measure. It doesn’t rip the way these jeans have, I’d say they’ve been cut on purpose rather than worn through.🙂

She's a moral leader, fulfilling her convictions with action. I wish she would straighten out our area. In our county, there were two Salvation Army thrift stores that are now out of business due to COVID closing them. They can't afford the rent, nor salaries. But now all those customers who depended on them for supplies, and the resellers are all at sad, angry and frustrated. Those stores, in Bath and Corning NY should be bailed out by Steuben county, if not to keep the landfills from filling up with good stuff, recyclables but in appreciation for what those stores did for the folks that need them, including those who get tax write offs! And these stores also funded drug and alcohol, homelessness programs. What a miscarriage. The communities need to rally to reopen them. And jail the landlord for raising the rent on the one by $1000. He and his wife know they are brutal slum lords, leaking roof etc. It's just a shame. Where's our moral leaders on this issue? Hey Community Foundation, this is the time to step in and make things right.

You don't need to literally dive. Often there is plenty on top and outside some dumpsters, especially at Apts.

yes exactly... My cat once bought in a 'live mouse' to show it off to me.. and he dropped and my dog picked it up and there was my dog with a mouse tail hanging out of his mouth.. and the dog was sucking on it, YUCK!!... so he basically sucked the life out of the mouse.. with me screaming drop it drop it... eventually he did then one wet dead mouse on the floor... he didn't eat it only just to have it in his mouth.. OMG i was so disgusted.. but now I think about it, it is funny! LOL

Yes frogs can make dogs and cats extremely sick. Wash his mouth out with a hose not pointed so he can drink the water but so it flows out of his mouth.

Those doors are usually small and only open half the width of the dumpster.

My thought also. They could have lost or gained weight so got rid of them. The person could have passed away and someone cleaned out their closet.

I totally agree Amoure, shops in my part of the world are not permitted to throw away good food, there are several food recycle type organisations that pick up and give to people in need. It shocks me that USA have so much food waste.

Me too, here in Calif. Where I live we have grocery outlets where excess or almost ready to expire foods get donated. I love the videos where she donates to the food pantry. Every city should have them.

Galifornia Wow,in FLA. I pick up my food once a month,to help us seniors.Always expired,stale,not nutritious.Sadly,bread and sweets.I eat it,but diabetic.

Galifornia they don’t have to donate them to food banks. They could donate to shelters who serve the food right there, they don’t refuse one old expired food. They pretty much serve it right away especially right now when the need is so great. ☮️💟 Nana

@@patriciarussell7487 I have the same problem. We get a lot of sweets here in Washington and I'm diabetic also. I try to eat mostly protein but of course that isn't what we get.

If food is expired, I just want to know. I can decide whether or not my family will eat it. But to not give me that option even, especially now, seems wrong. So many people are struggling, and many expired items are still good for some time.

I volunteer at a local food bank, we were always told that best before does not mean rotten afterwards. So many products will not go bad when the best before date hits, what a shame!

@@redapple2593 Yes. I even asked several times before if I could take the items to donate.. or if they could mark them down to a couple cents I'd buy everything to donate and was told no every time. It doesn't fit within their policy or their legal limits to do anything of the sort. The most we would do was mark things down 55% within a week of their expiring and if they expired we were told to rip them open and destroy contents so even if someone found something in a dumpster it would be destroyed. It's awful.
