You were right on 2 out of 3 so I had to look up that Sugar Ray song and I was like...WTF, that song sucked. Every time it came on I changed the channel or turned it off. But Torn and Barely Breathing are 2 masterpieces of music. So it's funny that we totally agree on 66% but sugar ray? GTF outta here, it sucks. Also, Barely Breathing was a one hit wonder but I think it is genius and is brilliant because once I saw this video -today - I thought, Wow, he is totally gay, but as a hetero white dude I always thought this song told story I could relate to with women. I love this song and I'm not gay. And as a non-hater, I think that is what makes it so brilliant. So Duncan, WTF dude? Why did you disappear? You are BRILLIANT!

90s music is what I grew up on. This, grunge, punk, anything on the local rock stations. But then I discovered Pantera. And Slayer. And Sepultura. And Lamb of God. My love for the guitar grew so much when I watched a video of Dime playing 'Domination' in Moscow '94. He became my idol, and metal is what I became. But still, I'll listen to the songs that remind me of when times were so much simpler, and this is one that I'll crank up in the car. My wife will just look at me and ask "why the hell is this on your playlist? Next time play it before you make my ears bleed!" 😅😅😅

The best songs grab you after a few listens. But, it's a rare one that grabs you the very first time. They usually have an often repeated hook--either a sung or melodic part--that have you singing along with it by the end. This is one of those. I also liked and remembered it from the very first time. (Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald/G Lightfoot proves it can be done with no singing required in the hook).

My generations music is trash, 90's music was really music with real instrumentals. None of that computerized autotune shit, and no damn smartphones. This song helped me through a narcissistic abuse situation. This played on the radio when I was thinking about the future of my so called "relationship" with someone who "really had me going, wishing on a star". But the black holes that surrounded them were, indeed, heavier by far. But I was thinking it over anyway. Because I wanted to believe or imagine they really did care about me the way they pretended to. Despite all the ways they emotionally abused me. But this song helped seal my decision. I have no regrets. Because I, too, didn't suppose it was worth the price that I would pay had I continued. It wasn't worth the one I already paid. I feel a lot better now... still a lot of healing to do but it's a step up from where I was✌

I swear I thought I had gone through the entire catalogue of 90’s alternative rock radio hits. Somehow this one slipped through the cracks, until I stumbled upon it yesterday. Man the chorus just takes you back to that special place. For me it was going to the public swimming pool (Apple swim and fitness in Tyler texas)(long since shut down) jumping off the diving board as the radio blared through the speakers of the massive pool. Unforgettable times.

Ms. Maria E. Smith, I must respectfully disagree with you. The 80’s had the best music 🎶-rock, metal, new wave, pop, r&b and alternative. When the 90’s ended, in the year 2000 was when you saw the 80’s bands reuniting because there was still a market for them. I don’t recall that for the 90’s, and trust me I was looking for them

This song was annoying af "back then". It played on Alt/Alt-Rock/Pop stations constantly, to the point that hearing it now kinda gives me PTSD. No, not all music from the 90's was good. So, don't kid yourself. Sure, enjoy what you will, but let's not go down the nostalgic well and start dusting off turds whilst tryin' to convince others, especially ourselves, that we're holding onto Gold.

@Justin MC Right? What are these kids saying this music makes them nostalgic for? Their blankies and sippy cups? I'm almost 33 and I got to listen to "90's" tunes being released on the radio or MTV for about 5 years. If you're much younger than that, you would have been too young to even understand that music. I just can't see tons of 3rd graders (or younger) relating to 90's alt about codependent relationships, unrequited love, suicide, drugs, the underbelly of ______ culture, or other popular subject matter of that era.

This song came out at the exact time I was in the most disastrous relationship of my life. Every. Single. Word. speaks exactly to what was going on... we were off and on for several years and then remained friends until the off and on thing reared it's very ugly head and then last year finally called it off for good after he threw me under-the-bus AGAIN. I think it's interesting that I've never seen this song online (RU-vid) and it popped up after another song (that I've never seen online) .. time to heal for real this time and asking God to heal the deep wound in my soul...

90s!!!! I recall this song hitting big in 1997. I was between my junior and senior years of high school that summer and working at a crappy grocery store as a cashier. Duncan I hope you somehow see this : I was a 80's baby and a 90's kid, with ( pre anxiety and bipolar which in those didn't know what it was). I was hurting and if anyone battles bipolar depression it's nothing you did just chemical imbalance but is real and physical, you physically hurt. ...He was my savior , with his words...he made in tolerable. I remember I would pass going out with my friends sometimes in the weekend , feeling an episode coming on and instead cry , and listen to his music. He's gifted writing and tone in his voice is just as beautiful as Karen Carpenter , it seems as if he's only singing to you about you. I of course got help and I'm great now, but in my darkest moments of my life , he was .... my hero, you saved me from not taking my own life feeling someone understood me. Thank you Duncan. ..thank you." that says it allll doesn't It , we always want what we never get , ". THANK. YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
