@@madtechnocrat9234 Of course I'm aware of it. I saw the film in the cinema when it came out. But it has nothing to do with what is shown in this trailer and the sensations it manages to convey. Obviously I speak on my own behalf.
@@ardeleandan It's meh, but not completely terrible. Some parts of it i liked. It's main problem was that it should have been 2 or 3 movies not one, the other being whatever the f weirding way was.
@@madtechnocrat9234 Agree, i don't think it's bad but Lynch distorted the characters/story a bit and tried to cram a particularly complex story into one movie. Although good enough to get me interested in the source material and got me to binge read Herbert's first 5 books one after the other. The "Weirding Way" (or Prana-bindu training) were grossly misrepresented in both Lynch's and Villeneuve's movies. According to the books such training imparted incredible muscle control, giving a fighter more than normal speed during combat because of the shifting of their perception of space-time. A missed opportunity in this latest incarnation of Dune to showcase a true sci-fi based martial art. Later expanded upon by the introduction of the evil Honored Matres, an all women group similar to the Bene Gesserit that killed with their feet (impossibly fast kicks).

The costumes and the spaceships look stunning. I wish they made a prequel in this style set 100 years before the events of Dune, further exploring the rivalry between the atreides and harkonnens
Careful what you wish for. Frank Herbert's son wrote a bunch of books doing precisely this and they were, quite frankly, terrible. Pray to god they never make it to film or if they do a competent writer and director makes the adaption and changes the source material so that they would be actually good.
@@emceedoctorb3022 thats your opinion, i found the prequel not so bad, and better than some other sci-fi stuff i found around. sure they were not perfect, and in my opinion not dune but settled in dune lore, but hey everyone has his opinion...
OMG this is fabulous... If "Dune" could be done in the style of the old cinema of the 50s-60s.... With what I just saw from this little video... It's almost better than the one in "84" visually more beautiful and more realistic... Wow fantastic... The selection of actors playing the roles is excellent... The visuals remind me a lot of "Laurence of Arabia"... I'm amazed...
Who are the actors selected? The AI Jodorowski trailer had recognizable people that were actually selected for his version of the film. Did AI create images of real top actors from the 50’s for this stunning abomination?
I think Frank Hebert would be appalled to see his masterpieces subjected to the AI treated that is given to literally everything else on RU-vid this days. It's all the same look and feel and audible similarity from one thing to another. Give me something created by humans for humans.

Is the second “fat bastard” standing strongly but alone in the deep desert the Emperor or the Baron, possibly awaiting his death by worm after being jabbed by Paul crysknife or Alia’s gom jabbar?
@@MinionAtTheGate sometimes the copies/reboots do end up being as/good or better than the original. If it achieves that status, it only means that the original is a classic because it’s able to have its core stand through time/generations. Also that the reboot was able to portray that with a more current portrayal.

The way the "studio lights" hyper-illuminate the characters and make them all the more plasticky/made-up looking is one of the main things that makes these look so authentically low-budget '50s. Not to mention the extreme depth-of-field. Amazing work!
@@tmage23 I haven't read the books and frankly, if I had, then that would have been an element that would have bother me. I don't mind under aged prophets but under aged super heroes do aka kid-soldiers.
Amazing. I hope a version OF THIS KIND ambientad in the 50 or 60s version can be made, the artist point of view of a retro futuristic scene could be wonderful.
Cecil B. Demille's Dube began filming in 1957 yet only finished production in 1964, It went way overbudget, almost bankrupped the studio and the lead actors could not stand each other. It's a miracle this movie was made.
Another way to look at it is that It will eliminate those industries altogether and leave many people without livelihoods. But who really knows at this point. If you can't beat em, you can always join them I suppose.
@@rollicker3139 “Promptwriter” could be a new major awards category that Hollywood grabs onto in the next few years. Once the chatbot infancy stage is over and this tech matures into AGI things could then get very dicey as what remaining industrial capacity gets largely automated leaving employment open to those who maintain our edifice of a functioning civilization. @@rollicker3139I don't see AI being able to replace writers and directors and actors. It can follow instructions, but it can't generate coherent storylines. But yeah, it still means a lot of people losing their jobs. But on the other hand, movies should become radically cheaper to make.

I'm not pro or against that Chalamet kid, but he's not very convincing. It's the two female leads (and that Sardaukar poetry) that keep the movie somewhat upright.
@@JZsBFF I don't personally know what you're talking about, because he was quite convincing when he successfully militarized the entire Fremen civilization (and, figuratively, multiple audiences in theaters) in a matter of 6 minutes. Absolutely! What a banger! Just look at the master craft and imagination that went into the worms! And finally spice that isn't invisible! Btw What bothers me most though is that, in both the 2023 and the 1980 version, Paul comes across as a immature, frail kid, totally not convincing. Only the 2000 mini-series conquers that issue but that had other issues, ie terrible special effects.
Wow, yeah, I totally remember watching this in the theatre, at a Midnight Showing... then again, I had eaten a healthy mushroom dinner, so that might have helped the visuals...

I am really surprised that for this kind of movie the old-school as presented here, with full color (over)saturation, looks way much better. Also the vehicles have better, more substantial feel. I hope we will some space sci-fi movie styled this way for real. This trailer is pleasure to watch, thank you!

There wont be a Grand Theft Auto 7. It will just be Grand Theft Auto - The Game. AI will generate new missions, characters, content - and it will not stop, it can do it every single forever. The algorithm popped this up for me and im totally in awe. At first I thought it was a (or several) colorized old eastern European or Russian movies cut and spliced together to make a trailer. It looks very retro and stylish. Thanks!
I honestly enjoyed this single of minute of video more than I did the five+ hours of the combined runtime of Dune pt 1 and 2. This is how that movie should have looked like - rough, raunchy, dangerous. Instead we got fremen who have never took a single shower looking like they just stepped out of a spa..
From all the videos in this channel, this is the only one that I feel looks better than the original.. as it fits Dune much better than "generic modern CGI look"
The Dino De Laurentiis Dune is the best. I used to think it was visually campy, but the acting is so superior to any of the other versions that it won me over.
One thing to really watch in all these A.I. films...the way people walk. Its hilarious. A.I. causes them to perform some truly acrobatic stunts in moving.
