As you can see from the lip-synch, he's speaking English anyway. They just dubbed him to make him seem "less human".

For people who question why his lips match the english words, because the linguist design the sardaukar language as a shorten/cut off english languange just like the military drill sergeant used to shorten words for orders while shouting.

I really like how much the Sardaukar planet is portrayed as so opposite from Arrakis, too. It is a harsh environment that can create tough soldiers, but they were out of their element on Dune.

In the vast majority of high class epic sci fi, this would've been acceptable. Acceptable, however, is not in Denis Villeneuve's vocabulary. He wants a feeling of a special, total alternate reality and that's what he delivered with many languages in the Duniverse.

The name "Duncan Idaho" is the ONLY thing I don't like in Dune.. Prob because I grew up in eastern Washington and visited family in Idaho all the time, so every time I hear it, it yanks me from the story.

This is one of the changes in the move that I'm not fond of, it should be 3 legions, not merely battalions. Also, they spent a few weeks after the main battle tussling with Fremen because they are the ones wanted to wipe them out completely (the Harkonnens wanted a slave labor force so they didn't want to wipe them out if it could be avoided). Thufir points out the logistics going into Arakkis vs leaving and they lost 5 men on average per fremen killed based on the number of kills they claimed (indicating they were hyping their kill numbers, just keeping their losses secret).

Dude these movies suck... I don't know why you all try to convince yourselfs to like it lol, "Force yourselves to think its cool" and it isn't scary the voice or whatever the dude said, its literally not scaring not a single thing... I feel like movies nowadays are like when a kid just makes up all these scenarios while playing with toys, that are cool to a kid but wouldn't actually work in a movie because everything is so predictable and derivative. And ive read a large portion of the dune books and even they suck. RAAHHHH.

Love how AI is undermining the artistic/creative community and people are ok with it. AI is on the road to replacing writers, artists, sound techs. The more you use it the more you feed it and the more true art gets buried under the one’s and zeroes. The Fremen weren't better then Sardukar. Paul Way & Gurney but everyone else wasn't elite trained.. IIRC the sound wepaons gave em the advantage.

The Sardaukar "language" is just english with an extremely heavy accent and heavily edited, if you listen to the real scene you can make out some words like "fall" and "blades".

they're already speaking english, but a english that has adapted over centuries etc. Similar to Old English being different to modern english.

More impressive in english than in anymore invented language ... This is a fictionnal universe, why is there this necessity to invent new languages ? Tolkien made elven language from old scandinavian or germanic language ... All these false language in star wars or dune is not necessary.

Apparently, they *Are* speaking English in the original, just very truncated. You can pick it out in his speech.

Here you can see how they created the sardaukar language. It's basically a chopped and brutalised english.

The film initially built these guys up to be legit but they got rolled in almost every scene. Visually dune was awesome but the second movie was lame.

Were they sacrificing themselves? In the movie they had men upside down with wounds on their necks.
