You people are heartless. The people working on these games put in a lot of effort. The production isn't easy and even if you don't love it there is no reason for base hateful remarks
Whether this is better or worse than Dark and Darker I don't care. This will definitely keep the market competitive and push both developers to create interesting updates
I mean IF this game even survives. Most people dont care about this game. Steam follows doesnt really show who actually plays this. One thing is clear tho and its that this will not replace DaD. If it survives, its going to be a miracle for the devs. This game was made in the hope that DaD would have gone under by the lawsuit and this would have replaced it but ironmace won the case and got their game back to steam. Now we can just wonder why the game kinda even exists. For the competition? Greed is good tried that but it died within a month.
yeah it looks like DaD but without a lot of character and time spent on making the enemies patterns feel really good to learn and weave between. it's got some great animations though you've gotta give them that.
@@Finnishmanni Also I have permanent crash on startup on DAD and I am not alone. I have tried everything I could find online. If I can't play DAD, it would be nice to have something to play.
@@BallisticMystic Could be a windows, driver or in the most unfortunate case an hardware issue. Probably driver issue or maybe your PC isn't capable to run the game?

@@Odyssey636 Well let's see. - Better graphics. - Very slow gameplay instead of super slow gameplay. - Everyone can block, not just longsword and shield so it's not automatic spam or run. - There are actual maps instead of just collections of squares with a theme. If this was made by students, then DaD was made by students too.
@j.d.4697 wtf do you mean better graphics game looks like ass. it literally looks like Valorant. looks like an assfart made by riotgames. all the graphics looks like streched single colour sheets. dad has tons of details on every corner. this game litterally made for bad pc's. also you can literally block with the tip of the longsword and counterattack from it this alone will show how beautifull and detailed dad is. if dad is dota this game feels like league of legends.
@@j.d.4697 - Worse graphics honestly - Bland gameplay that even the people who used to play it quit - Everyone can "block", which doesn't take any skill since it doesn't have hitboxes and doesn't even negate damage, just reduces it like some sort of Elder Scrolls or MMO game (why did you even think was a plus?) - The fuck you mean? Is it just because it's open? Also more maps in Dark and Darker and the Ruins of Forgotten Castle (surface level) is coming back (it already existed) lol

I want everyone to remember that competition is good for games.. Can we all look at tarkov as a prime example for what happens when an extraction game goes unchallenged.. Also dark and darker still has a case going on against it, it could still go under.
Nope. The case was ongoing for quiet a long time and was the reason it wasn't released on Steam or Epic. Case was closed months ago, that's why it's on steam and Epic.
Also... competition is good. But if dark and darker is like a 50k car, this is a 2k car. Thats not really competition. We need someone to release a 100k car so that dnd will step it up some. This budget student project isnt it😂😂
It’s so nice to see Jack learning a new game. Super refreshing. Jack not knowing things, getting surprised and/or scared and maybe damaged is hilarious
just spent all my free time playing the play test for the last 5 days. cant wait for early access and hope the devs make the game really rise to its full potential
It's not just similar, it literally used some of the same assets like the interaction animation for example. But the irony is that the DaD devs had a lawsuit about stolen assets which they won by proving they used all these store assets legally available for commercial use, and apparently now the DB devs are using those too. 😅
Thank you so much for introducing me to this game, I tried it the last day of the playtest and love it. I'd really love to see you play more of it after release and help bolster its player count.
its looks exactly the same gameplay wise the only true difference is the art style which gives it a lighter feel , like a fantasy game meanwhile dark and darker is a dark fantasy but i honestly like that there is two different games hopefully it makes the devs to try their hardest on making the better game which could only be good for us lol
@@EmpireK2 You sure its the same gameplay? Because DaD's melee combat had more weight and it looked sluggish while Dungeonborne is more arcadey. That and DB has some quality of life stuff that I wish Far and Darker had.
@@_io.n More polished but far more imbalanced. And practically everything else this game does better, the experience and talent the devs have here is showing very clearly.
The first dnd style game that runs well and makes it onto console will be a hit. Would make a lovely change up for my group of mates, bored of rebirth island but lacking anything coop. Remnant 2 was great, but didnt have that pvp aspect.
I have been playing this game for a day now and love it, but I have never even seen that reaper boss. Your encounter with him reminds me of the early days of Everquest 1, and that underground part reminds me of the Queynos sewers in EQ1, which I adore. 🥰
Literally everything about this looks worse what are u tokin 😂 bro combats worse, animations worse, difficulty is piss easy, graphics are terrible, itemization is worse, and so is class fantasy🤭
To anyone on the fence, just play it. It's Leagues better than Dark and Darker. That's not to say Dark and Darker is a bad game, but this game just opens a lot more possibility. I could go on WAY longer about this, but just... do it. You won't regret it. To anyone saying it's a copy, just play it yourself, and you'll see how much more developed it is. Dark and Darker paved the way for a genre like PUBG did. Other's will take the torch further in honor of it. This game fucking slaps.
As someone who.plays Dark and Darker the combat aspect in Dungeonborne was way more fun. I was surprise how fun this game was.... not im lookjng forward to the other dungeon crawler. Dungeonstalker hopefully its also good.

Axes are my fav Melee Weapon, especially 2-Handed Great Axes. This Axe the Boss has is GORGEOUS... 😍 14:40ish... ... Of course that Boss didn't drop the Axe as Lewt... heartbreaking... 💔 15:30ish... Dungeons and Dragons? Oh, that is a point... maybe this game is more like 1/3 Diablo 1/3 Skyrim 1/3 D&D. 15:45ish... Yes it bears a ton of similarities to Dark and Darker but the play style is much different. I feel like this is actually MORE accessible than DaD and more forgiving. Considering this is just about to enter Early Access and if I compare it to where DaD was at the same point this is actually farther along and better feeling than that one. But, in all fairness, I'd simply say try them both and pick what you like. It's Dungeonborne for me (or, if you're all about anime, pick Dungeon Stalkers)
it’s like if a company who tries not to curse in their content (like disney) took dark & darker & made their own version. d&d is more gritty. once d&d comes to console and is more casual it’ll blow up.

Playing this and dark and darker, i prefer dungeonborne. The two will be compared to each other tirelessly, but they are actually very different from each other.
This game took dark and darker and made it CoD like. It does everything that DAD does, but much worse. Only "good" thing this game has is the 3v3 arena. This is probably going to be another greed is good case
29:06 Yeah, the cyclops in Dark Messiah. Dark Messiah is such a cool game! Do you really have to do physical damage on this cyclops when he's down? Magic is what knocked him down in the first place. Doesn't seem logical or fair to magic users.
