Watching this again after 5 years to brush up for a Critical Role episode this week😋 You've changed so much!

I have an aquatic race with a sort of Atlantis, and they use a dragon turtle with special cannons on it as their flag ship.

Dispite having the same name these guys act very differently from their mythological counterparts. I wonder how a turtle dragon dragonborn star druid would work?

In a replay of Isle of Dread a while back I placed the shell of long dead dragon turtle covered in deep gashes in a hidden cove just for a little flavor. Was a big hit and cause for much fearful speculation.

In my campaign, my triton fisherman, Fishmael, has a pet dragon turtle and is in the middle of becoming Poseidon. It's nice to be unstoppable in the water.

Dragon Turtles in the book are the average Dragon Turtle in my campaigns. In my campaigns, they grow (slowly) their whole lives, slumbering longer and longer as they get larger. Every campaign I have has at least 1 "drifting island", a slumbering epic-sized Dragon Turtle. I have a rule called "cubing the sphere." All my players read all the books, so whenever I start a campaign, everything is altered a little to give my players the mystery they should have.

Has anyone fought a dragon turtle in their campaign? Just trying to imagine a fight happening with these boss monsters out at sea. That image of a dragon turtle creeping up below a ship, ready to bite into the rudder is all kinds of JAWS-level unsettling/creepy

Some primitive screw heads confuse the dragon tordle with the terrasque, but it is much smarter and tactically superior. Also offensive magic. And likes to longseige ports.

I'm going to put a spoiler for my current campaign below. Your channel is great and I hope my players are watching you. I hope they don't read this comment though. The Tortles in my game become Dragon Turtles if they don't reproduce. Tortle match makers work to keep the secret; trying to pair off every Tortle or send particularly bad eggs far away. Living for so long means they have seen almost everything and tend toward a neutral alignment. Instead of obsession with treasure, Dragon Turtles are keen on witnessing something new but lack the magic to explore. Despite the trade off of immortality for reproduction the Tortle species barely exists. (War? Disease?) The match makers' work is almost lost upon the cruelties of nature. If we could live, 'forever," or produce children once what would happen to our population? I imagine Tortles as an ancient race who erased themselves from history. They let the Elves take credit for some deeds to maintain the secret. ---- This is where I get crazy and say bladesinging came from Tortles and Elves emulate it. Tortles move 10 ft faster when underwater compared to land, bladesinger form adds 10 ft of movement. Tortles typically don't wear armor, bladesingers need to be unarmored to gain benefits. A Tortle can benefit from few AC enhancements but the bladesinger bonus applies.
