I would love a ecology on the blink mammoth, I love the mental image of a herd of mamoths blinking in and out of existance momentarilly to crush pesky blink spiders with their trunks.

Strictly banned in a Wizard's Duel of course. But that won't stop certain hags from trying it on.

Okay, it has no innate magical resistances, it’s breath attack is a toxic or blinding “BUBBLE BEAM”, and it doesn’t typically excel at magic… I’m just imagining a Dragonborn countering its breath attack by using their own breath attack. Both Silver and White Dragonborn freezing the bubbles and a Gold and Red Dragonborn literally turning the bubbles into vapor which completely negates it or alters the area slightly in the case of the ice breath.

A dragon with a soap based breath weapon sounds a lot deadlier than a typical adventurer would think. I am also delighted at how different your interpretation of the pink dragon is from that of Dungeon Dad even though you have both used the same issue of Dragon Magazine.

As creative as the bubble breath is I think they miss an opportunity to either have it be laughing gas breath or hallucinatory breaths

So it dives into a highly flammable, napalm like bubble slime but has no fire resistance.... That's not going to go well for it vs smart adventurers.

A dragon with the personality of a Narcissistic Bully, I think this was actually a very clever joke about how bullies act. Wickedly clever actually.

I can imagine a pink dragon ordering its minions to dig non-lethal pitfall traps in various locations around and in its lair. Covering up the trap near perfectly. Only for a unsuspecting party of Adventures to fall in this deep pit, the pink dragon being alerted, walks to the pit, spews its caustic soapy foam into the pit and leaving for awhile as the Adventures scramble to escape, ropes being to slippery, walls of the pit to slimey to grip. After a few minutes, irritation of the skin and eyes really sets in... hours later, the pink dragon comes back with a large, long twizzle straw, to slurp up the gelatinous mass the adventures have become. Ordering his minions to redisguise the pit.

One of my players has declared befriending a pink dragon as on her bucket list… I pray for her safety. Great video, as always!

I'm actually planning on homebrewin my own pink dragon for my own homebrew setting, but mine are a bit different. My pink dragons are an off shoot of the purple dragons that maintain the ability to poly-morph despite being a chromatic dragon, more over they are able to manipulate the intensity of their breath weapon so that it appears as though they have two breath weapons. With these tricks up their sleeve, the bad reputation of mercury dragon's in my setting, and a very high charisma score the pink dragon is able to fool people into thinking it's more aligned with metallic dragons than chromatic dragons. It's breath weapon is a charming narcotic mist that can easily be stored and distilled into a drug or increased in potency by the dragon to become a poisons overdose breath. Their preferred layer is in the city, preferably a famous city with many cultural attractions/ events and an upper class that's prone to throwing wild and lavish parties. They use their guile, humanoid transformation and breath weapon's charming and addictive effects to secure it an opulent and spacious home with in the city where it will proceed to make itself into a socialite and pillar of the community. After cementing itself onto the good graces of the city's upper class they will begin to form an underground criminal empire, usually based around selling it's breath weapon as a drug. They are skilled in maintaining a double life as both a crime boss and popular public figure, as well as making those who threaten to expose them disappear. They hoard expensive and exotic perfumes, art, jewelry, fabrics, and other luxury items to decorate it's home and itself. Basically my pink dragons are 50% crime boss archetype and 50% popular girl bully archetype.

Even dragons have their thespians and entertainers.

So a red dragon and a white dragon went for a tumble and the results came out pink? If you tell me to stuff a sock in it, I'll call that joke a wash.

I genuinely think this is my second favorite of the chromatic dragons in general. Pink's my second favorite color to begin with, and I love the wackiness and absurdity of such an odd creature.

Chaotic neutral monsters with that much power can be a blessing or a bane, made worse by Dragon Psychoses. Nobody wants a Joker-like Pink dragon going around playing horrible "jokes" on unsuspecting people that end with melted humans and a giggling Dragon.

A pink Dragon would be useful to have around just for the Pepto breath weapon, never regret your choice of Tavern food again!

has anyone tried making metallic dragons of the reactive kind ( like sodium, potassium, lithium, etc.) or radio active metals like uranium, or plutonium, etc.?

Since that article was written, the monster hunter franchise made bubble breath attacks substantially more threatening and credible. I think a modern interpretation of the pink dragon would be taken a lot less as a joke.

I always loved some of the April Fools creatures in Dragon Magazine.

I much prefer Dungeon Dad's version where they are the ones who created and are most interested in the art of humor rather than being malicious. After all arrogance, self importance, and maliciousness doesn't play into humor all that well nor is there a point in humor if the audience dies as the result.

I always wanted the Pink dragon to be sorta Samurai like -they can be good or bad. But it was a April fools joke back in the day.

*notices Disguise Self in the 2/day spells you gave it* You know, that simple first level spell is a lot more powerful than you'd think when you really look closely at it. Part of it directly notes that if your illusion is smaller than you, you're still there and the "empty space" is still interactable with the world around you. The example they give is if somebody tries to put their hand on your shoulder while using the illusion to make yourself look thinner, they find your solid mass in the air, not where they see it on the illusion. So, what's stopping a creative illusionist from taking advantage of that fact? Using human examples, with anime references so that one can go on to see them in action if they want. -make your arms and weapons seem shorter or longer, messing with your opponents sense of timing for when to dodge and block (Han'nya of the Oniwabanshū in Rurouni Kenshin, who used stripes on his arms to obtain an optical illusion version of this effect) -your body is it's normal self, but your weapon hand is not matched up to what you're actually doing. Eg: you're stabbing while your opponent sees you going for an overhand chop. (Succulent in the series Overlord used this tactic while fighting Climb) -Reverse yourself. For years i"ve wondered about the other colour chromatic dragons. Wasnt expecting it to be borderline yandere though. I like the bubble breath but what i would do is change it to anti gravity bubbles. Alot more chaos can ensure

I would add that characters, or at least small and light characters like Gnomes and Hobbits, could be transported into the air if fully enclosed by one of the bubbles. I have a blurry vision of one of the Smurfs flying away in this manner in Gargamel’s workshop and if you allow some of the bubbles to be light this could create really comical (and deadly if the bubbles burst and the PCs take fall damage) scenes. If floors also become slippery and skiddy, it would improve the comedy. Perhaps a DC10 Dex saving throw would negate, or easier depending on the footwear (DC8 with sabatons). Maybe you’d skid into the Dragon’s soft underbelly with that razorsharp Elvish magical sword, or maybe you’d plunge it into that Truelove’s back and lose her forever, depending on your rolls or the personality of the DM.

I don’t know if saying it is almost always some random monstrosity is right. After all, that article where it details some of the missing chromatics seems to imply there is at least some degree of regularity.

chart of dragon breeding, roll for mathematical equation. depending on what drops, the stat will be male + female ____ +2= stat in question. one great way to signify the chaos of that kind of thing. Them you do another roll to see if the offspring is stable, if yes those are the avarege stats of the adult offspring, as long as they are of the same type, if not you roll for randomness. Be whatever Tiamat desires .........oddly enough, by the most part she wants spawns. whaever, i'm just a mortal, she's a godess. Spawns it is, must have a reason for that.
