I appreciate you trying to keep things spoiler free. The original adventure may be old but for people like me who have gotten into D&D in recent years it's very considerate. I look forward to the coverage of the rest of these.
I wish they dropped two versions 🤣 One with all of the 5e stuff left out would be awesome. The fact that they are working on Dark Tower and expanding it is so fricken cool 🤘 Even more so because they are apparently dropping a Dungeon Crawl Classics edition. I'd give a finger to have them rerelease all of them for Hyperborea 3e
I didn’t think of the plateau as being incongruent with the rest of the island until you said so. It seems that conclusion is subjective. I can see it both ways. Seems fine to me the way it is, but I guess I might include some ruins or other clues about the plateau area elsewhere on the island for those players who might think like you do.
I love what Goodman Games has done with the old school adventures. My only complaint is that, at least in X1, they didn't need to reprint BOTH editions of the original module in the new book. One reprint, and maybe the original artwork from the orange cover edition over a few pages, would have been fine, and kept the size - and price - down a bit. That's not to say it's expensive, especially for its size, but putting essentially two copies of the original module in there is just filler.
I'm thinking of starting a island campaign and need adventure ideas, are there any adventures that would fit in a sort of archipelago adventure of colonization and archeology?
