I love Matt Mercer! He always just goes with it, even when he's trying to be awkward and funny. As far as being with a bunch of celebrity nerds in a D&D style tavern, that would be a dream for me. Also, I don't think the host gets it, to be perfectly honest. She looked bored and put off by a lot of people.
I think my celebrity DnD (alive or dead) party would be. Matt Mercer DMing, with the players being myself Christopher Lee, Vin Diesel, Patrick Stewart, and Ian Mckellen
Chaotic Neutral... I'm the kind of guy, who's okay with the world burning... but I bring the bag of marshmallows cuz I can.. oh and I twist and tuck a bag of bread every time..
Lawful Neutral personally. I will obey the law to remain under the radar but I will ignore a dying man to get the cold milk home to my fridge before it spoils; unless he pays me...then I'll help him and then buy fresh milk and some candy afterwards.
My first character was a Half Elf Ranger that was named Pariah Amistacia. The only cool thing I pulled off was decapitating a Red Dragon with a Vorpal Sword. Other than that. I don't think my first character did anything other than that.
Sorry to multipost: Where did they construct that and why? Is is promo for the release or are they doing some sort of long term gig/escape room type thing?
Chaotic Neutral: Lots of fun to be had, not really out for self, but also not that selfless. I would say that I am for the good of those I care about, but perhaps not the Greater Good, with some hijinks involved.
my first character was one of the pre-gens from the AD&D box set, an elf ranger i believe, i died about 15 minutes into my first session, my first REAL character, that i made, was a human fighter named ikickass, apart from the name he was awesome. in real life i'm lawful neutral, though some would call me neutral evil.
I'm probably Neutral Good. Laws are great for a lot of things, but then you've got civil disobedience which is literally chaotic. And we need both to advance society. My first long term PC was a CG Pyromancer. Sadly, never got to finish the quest my party was on, DM moved away. My favorite character wasn't even D&D, but 'Mechwarrior. Could've gone far on Solaris VII with his Phoenix Hawk, but ended up drowning because his 'Mech got disabled underwater and wasn't able to tell which way was up (disoriented).
Chaotic Good here. Chaos is the seed that bears fruit to all life; Lawfulness is a byproduct thereafter. Through chaos, limitless possibilities are born. Bask in the beauty of the unexpected!
Lawful Good. I don't give much for traditions etc., but I honestly see a lot of value in everyone finding a rule set to agree on and then making sure that rule set serves as much good as possible. Democracy is a good test. What happens when democracy makes bad decisions? Well, we go through the procedures we've already agreed to and expect others to do when they are not in charge. If we don't abide by our own rules, we can't expect others to either and good rarely comes from that. Keep in mind, human morality is not two dimensional and D&D alignment is horrible for describing people real or fictional. Lawful Good doesn't fit me, but of all the 9 alignmentss it's the one that fits me the most.
If you really break down the alignments I would think that most would consider themselves some type of good. I see myself as neutral good. I see that Chaotic Evil and Neutral would be the rarest alignments that anyone would actually be.
tbh I think my dream party would just be joining the critrole guys XD but hand-picking I'd want Mercer and my friend Lukas to co-DM, Bowie, Carrie Fisher, Lin-Manuel, and probably Stana Katic ♥
Francis Xavier Antazo ehh. Ive always played loosely woth alignment tbh. Mainly cause i do so much stupid shit that the dm is like uh whp cares. But thanks for the advice with alignment though. Ive always been told just to do whatever as lomg as it isnt out of character for the sitiautipn.
I still remember my first d&d character. He was a Tiefling Paladin (Sadly, all I heard was magic knight and I thought, "awesome!") But his name was Bob and I got to behead a dragon with him which was cool. But yeah, I'm probably Neutral Good. I'm a pretty calm person who's also good hearted. (Until I betray my d&d party by teleporting out with the horde. Nothing personal, just buisness)
the mighty neun are not all lawful good lol so matt has his hands full with that rag tag bunch in his game. But for me in the real world, I would say im good, I don't think my way is best or go out for myself nor do I follow the law to the T
It’s times like these when I really wish I played D&D because I have no idea what they’re talking about lmao sounds like a lot of info and lore. I want to start playing but I also don’t even know where to start 😂😂
Braeden watch Critical Role. The first 15 min of the episode is a little wonky because technical issues so for the first bit you have sound and a blured screen but once you get past that you'll see what it's all about. First episode is call Arrival at Kraghammer. Campaign 2 is a good starting point too but you will miss some inside jokes and references.
I would not recommend you start with critical role. i would recommend you just watch some basic beginner videos on youtube, start talking to your friends about it, and download the free basic rules and one of the free adventures you can find by googling or on dmsguild. and maybe maybe look into the free resources on roll20 or dndbeyond.
It's where I started and it's what inspired me to play. Now I run a weekly game that's been going for over 6 months. Watching them play made it easier to grasp the rules once I started playing. Of course your welcome to you opinion but people all over the world started because of this show. Its a big part of why D & D has become so popular again. The fact that it has been praised my Mike Mearls ( head honcho at the company that makes the game) says a lot.
Ya CR can be intimidating for sure if you are starting out. You have to keep in mind that they all know each other for years and are all professional voice actors. What got me started was watching pro Jared’s D&D December videos. His story about how his friends threw everything he had planned out the window really sold it for me. I had to try it.
