I headed your warning about Read Dead Redemption 2 spoilers. I have now played the game in it's entirety and after 90 hours of gameplay I am ready to finish the last 2 minutes of this video
@@boxxylegoplaymobil8906 the Last of us 2 was a hell of a game. You will understand it when you are wiser but until then I recommend you to read some books because books teach you the art of telling stories. Tlou2 is not just game but an art of telling deep story just like rdr2. The difference between rdr2 and tlou2 has is rdr2 tells you a linear story where arthur starts as bad character but redeem himself as good of heart at the end and Joel who started as good character ended with gruesome end. Thats telling real-life stories. Bad people can turn good and bad things can happen with good people . That's life
1:13 this is why I love Dunkey, he'll just casually drop a nuclear take like "Half life Alyx and ff7 are just as bad as Shenmue 3" and I respect him for that. Unsubbed
@@finnpp9717 I actually thought it was cool that he was able to recognize that tlou2 is a pretty good game despite all of the hate it got, it shows that he has integrity as a critic. I blocked him on everything
@@Footseasoning32 Factual, I think his ability to show unprecedented love and hate for different games despite what treatment that game has received before is not seen much from critics these days. I was the one who banned him from League
Where are you right now ? I'm at soup. What do you mean you're "at soup" I mean I'm at soup What store are you in I'm at the soup store WHY ARE YOU BUYING CLOTHES AT THE SOUP STORE !? F*** YOUUUUUUU!
@Cacodemon Commentary Makes me sad knowing that cod, even with a good game every once in a while, will likely never return to the level we saw from COD4-BO2. Shit, even mw3 is fun af to play compared to whatever is coming out. They were just on another expectation level then I think. Gaming industry as a whole has realized quantity>quality makes them more money in the short term...
I have no clue why but the quote "The Man with the silver tongue, who can talk his way out of any situation and finally he's got nothing left to say." literally gives me goosebumps every time
@@bigguy1337 It's a development alright but not as huge as this one coz he despised the shit outta that game back when he reviewed it compared to rdr2 which isn't so bad.
@@Th3Sh1n1gam1 I tried it when it first came it out. Its sooo slow. Games may end fast, but characters move so slow I felt like I was watching more than playing. Maybe it's changed
@@Josh-qr9fo On top of the other guy who responded, about a year ago they increased the speed of everything by 10%. Skillshots, movement, the whole 9 yards. Now when I play League, I can't help but think League is the slow one
The best thing to happen to HotS was Blizzard shooting it in the kneecaps and leaving it in a ditch. The devs were like “They aren’t looking anymore, let’s make the game really fucking good.”
This is why i trust dunkey no matter what. Hes not afraid to go back and update his view. The red dead arch. Gave it a 3/5 first play through. Played the game some more. And even tho arguably it was rated where it was bc of the lack of games out this year, He unashamedly put it in the number 1 spot. All of this shit is subjective, and yes he paid me to type this but the fact he will admit that his opinion has changed qualify s him to at least get his job at Machinima back.
It just shows that enjoying art is a highly subjective matter and the impression a game, movie, song or other piece of art makes on you can totally change over time. Dunk is not afraid to admit this and that makes him very likable
@@myboymassacred If it was because he got influenced by the internet, don't you think that his opinion on TLoU 2 would've changed way more than Red Dead?
@@Matrxmonky Good, it lets you get engaged more. After I explore a lot of the open world and get lots of treasure and legendary animal parts I do like 10 missions in a row so I don’t get bored. The game is VERY slow but once you get the rhythm down you can really appreciate the majesty of RDR2.
Thats because a lot of games have become worse due to corporate greed. As more of these shitty games get released, actually good games look even better in comparison
@@jackspencer1993 Mhmmm, right after the mess that is cyberpunk on PS4 I refunded and immediately went back to replaying rdr2 from the beginning to have something enjoyable again to play. Ain’t buying cyberpunk til all updates and free dlc and dlc are out for 40-50 dollars min. Ain’t getting screwed over by them again.
Lmao "I guess you can say Hades is one hell of a game.." it's funny because the joke barely made me crack a smile but that god damn wheezing laugh made me burst lmao
@@tjmoney5542 RDR2 is kinda a slog gameplay wise, it either doesn't go hard enough in on the sim stuff or goes too hard in it depending on your perspective and what kind of gamer you are, and the shooting is truly rather mediocre. But the story, if you remain unspoiled on it, is pretty great. I think Dunkey has come to appreciate stories in games in general more recently.
@@yellowpowr8455 I think it's also more relevant to what sort of games you should look into each year rather than worrying about release dates. Release dates aren't relevant to playrate. That's why Super Mario Bros 2 wins every year.
It’s also a good way to look at how well a game ages. How many times have you seen a “GOTY” that gets totally forgotten a year or so later? The real gems are the ones you keep coming back to
Dunkey's best in the last 5 years 2015: Metal Gear Solid V 2016: Inside 2017: Super Mario Odyssey 2018: God of War 2019: Sekiro All of these games got released at the same year when Dunkey choosed them, RDR 2 is the only game that got number 1 in a different year.
@@carpentiled well the gameplay is fine its just the story that needed an overhaul. dunkey also didn't say much about it just that he liked it so not exactly sure where he really stands and honestly it's better not to know. best to just move on
@@irregulargamer1352we don't know much about how he feels about a game he made a 7 minute video that opens with him calling it a masterpiece and another 18 minute video where he defends the game from criticism? ok
Ackshully commentor Hades and hell aren't equivalent. Hades is a place for all dead to go to good and bad. While Hell is where sinners go to get tortured for all eternity.
Apart of the retro games collectibles you can display, and actually play them in-game, I can't understand why Animal Crossing is a thing. 🤔 Even my wife didn't gave a d4mn about it, and I thought she would love it, back then. She dropped the game entirely in a week or so. 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah and every new years I love the mega64 Todd and Aaron video, but this year's was a little lack luster compared to 2018 and 2019. Fuck you covid plan-demic government mask mandate bullshit.
I'm glad you came around on Red Dead Redemption 2. I took it slow the first time, on my own terms, and the big moments and the ending hit me like a truck.
To be honest even League players hate league. Tyler 1 words: "You're trash! Fix your game! It sucks playing this shit! And I'm fucking addicted! So I can't quit!"
@@mertselcuk5949 there's hardly any competitive multiplayer game that doesn't have a large group of players that say that the game sucks and that they hate it although they've put in thousands of hours into it and continue to do so. There's a lot of love-hate gamers in general for some reason
@@jess4you13 Yeah the way he talked about it after his first playthrough didnt seem like He paid a lot of attention or really got invested in the characters and the world. Glad he came around to it eventually, just like Uncharted 4 and tlou.
@@AmonGus-ml1fh dunkey's come out with more "wait actually its good" rereviews than anyone else lol maybe he needs to pay more attention the first time around
@@TheJerbol people change and so do the things they like over the years. I used to be a bitter piece of shit and I still kind of am but now I like The Witcher 3 when I didn't a few years ago.
I sometimes work on Film sets, and the hours are 12, 14, sometimes 16 then a long drive home, little sleep, and repeating. We get very little time for ourselves through the day, but squeezing in a dunkey video before bed always hits the spot. Love you Ass.
@@Malluc i have abandoned warframe after 5 years and 2100h. This game completely lost its way, it's extremely unbalanced and the devs are clueless on what to do with it. It's in a really sad state and i am tired to complain about universal vacuun or other stuff they are stubborn on
Usually when I'm looking for a new game, I turn to your "best of 20--" videos. You broadened my perspectives. It was due to you that I tried Dark Souls, and then Resident Evil. Resident Evil 1 and 2, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne are now my absolute favorite games along with Elden Ring. I just downloaded Ori per your recommendation and high praise. I know it won't disappoint me because you, Dunkey, are the voice of gamers.
when dunkey said that he kind of wished that half life alyx didn't come out I was gonna argue in the comments, but then I realized that it doesn't matter, him not enjoying a game I loved doesn't affect my experience with it, dunkey is dunkey, and he likes the games he likes, and I am me, and I like other things. So thank you dunkey, for making me realize that you are nitpicking and biased, I win bye bye.
millions of jokes aside, after watching almost all the dunkey work, came to the conclusion that the writing abilities of this man are out of this world. respect.
@@Sharpscore247 Saying anything about the final boss' fight is a spoiler that any new player should discover for themselves. You kind of hinted at a spoiler yourself.
Thank you Mr. Dunkey for your entertaining videos. I haven't play all of the games you've talk about because I don't have a console or higher computer to play one but everything is still funny and relatable. Have a good day/night to you.
I'm just glad somebody finally said it. I've never understood why League and DOTA 2 were as big as they are, when you have games like SMITE and HoTS out there. League and DOTA just seem like the more complicated, toxic, long, and frustrating versions.
@@yellowtitan6040 because they're more competitive and a lot of people play MOBAs for the competitive aspect rather than playing for fun. smite and hots are just a living meme that shouldnt be taken seriously, can still be fun but no one is going to take it seriously enough for it to be competitive
@@MyNameIsSalo Try playing games to have fun instead of trying to compete in a competitive scene that means nothing and you will never matter to. That's what makes them the better games, they are more fun.
@@italianwaffle5592 RDR2 is definitely a game you enjoy a lot more when you explore the world and it's characters instead of just rushing through the story missions.
@@italianwaffle5592 me too man, I remember him describing the game as getting worse near the end, and that honestly made me confused, like how do you describe the last chapter of rdr2 as a failure? Just doesn’t make sense
@@user-nh8le8uv6g It's easy to just get fatigued with the extreme length of some games and decide you've had your fill. Then again, I don't know why he'd play it multiple times if that's the case. I actually can't imagine replaying all the fuck off way through RDR2 again even though I liked it quite a bit.
Red dead 2 is the only game that I’ve ever played where I don’t have a problem with the trailing missions. Honestly I didn’t even notice them until you mentioned it, that’s how good the story is. Even the conversations you have during the trailing missions are interesting
I was one of those who watched a playthrough and thought that it was a disappointing sequel 😂 (I didn't think it was bad, just disappointing). Literally finished it earlier this day and it's even better than the first game imo.
