Thanks for the update on the Dunlop tires. I had a set mounted on my 850GS four days ago and rode home in and out of rain on I-15. Since then I have been out on blacktop, gravel, graded dirt, and a dirt road that hadn't been graded in a long time. I agree with everything you have said about the tires: they work. I am glad to hear that you are getting good life from them.
Boy, you have a lot of nice places to ride up there in the Ozarks. It's been 75*F here in S. Texas all week. I'm also out riding! My Tiger also wears Trailmax Missions. I have around 8,000 miles on em, and will easily get another 4,000. I do like them, although the front will wash out in deeper sand. But I'm used to knobbies, so it's probably more me than the tire. I will buy another set when these finally wear out.

Another good video John! I will give them tires a try. I have Shinko 705's on my Strom now. They work great but the wear is not good. I have 4,000 on them be lucky to get another 2,000 out of the rear. The fronts are not wearing to bad. Hey if I don't see you before Christmas you have a Merry one!

Caught my attention! I have an 18' 800 XCx and am going to fit some of those Dunlops as well. Also, my friend and I are planning on loading the bikes (he has a 14 Vstrom 1000) to escape winter in Minnesota for the first time ever and go riding in Arkansas the last three days of March. Any suggestion on a quintessential 3 day camp/ride route? Would love to ride mostly moderate off road if possible.
Good to hear from you sir, just about anywhere in Arkansas is a motorcycle wonderland. I don't think you can pick a bad route down there. I really like to go down south of Harrison Arkansas on highway 5 and ride around in the areas along the Buffalo River. Jasper or Ponca Arkansas are very nice places to camp and explore the dirt roads in that area. Here are a couple of videos from my last adventures down that way. I just installed a set of these on my little Versys X300. It was a hard install but there are so my benefits to these tires I went with them. I made a video on the experience so just see my channel for a lot of Versys X300 bike updates. Great review on the Dunlap tires.
Thanks for the review of these tires on the tiger. I have one question before I pull the trigger on the Dunlops. How noisy is the front tire at 65+mph? My 2018 XCA came with Bridgestone battleax adventurecross A41. They are fantastic on all surfaces but are unacceptably noisy at speed (the front tire, at least). They also wear very quickly. What can you tell me about how noisy the dunlops are? Thanks much, Rick
Hello there sir.. good to hear from you. The front tire does make some noise on the highway but I would say it is pretty minimal. When traveling in a straight line the noise from the front is slight but it is a little louder when in a curve over on the side of the tire. I would say they are quiet for a 50/50 tire. I have 9000 miles on the set on the Tiger now. It looks like I will probably get a couple thousand more out of the front and the Back tire looks like could go another 5000 miles but I will change both at the same time.... Great review of the Dunlops and a very nice video. I'll get some for my 800 next time I need a tire change. I understand that the Tiger has tubes in the tire, have you ever had a flat while out on the road? I've had lots of flats with tubeless tires and they are easy to fix with a plug. I'm wondering what guys do when they get a flat with a tubed tire. Thanks and hope you are having a great Christmas.
Hello there sir, I have had flat tires on bikes with tubes in the past. I carry tools, tire irons and spare tubes with me when I am out on bikes with tubes. If I have a flat I pull off the wheel and replace the tube. I also carry a foot air pump. That is the way everyone did it back before we had tubeless motorcycle tires. A friend of mine that has been on spoked wheels for a long time suggested using 4mm inner tubes as they might not puncture so easily. However, one would still have to carry the gear you mentioned just in case. Ride safe in 21.
Wow you have a very different accent to the usual american accent, where are you from? I’m seriously considering this tyre for my KTM 890 adventure but here in the UK we get a lot of rain so I’m not convinced it will be good in wet mud?? So confused as to what to buy 🙀
Hello there, good to hear from you. I am from southern Missouri here in the US, I am just an old Hillbilly. As far as the Trailmax Mission tires and riding on mud goes I would say go with a different tire. The Mission tires are really not good in mud, they pack full immediately and I don't think they are much better that a regular street tire in those conditions. I would go with something that is more of a knobby tire like a Michelin Aneke Adventure or a set of Shinko 804/805 would be a less expensive option. Hello there sir, good to hear from you. The Mission tires are a pretty good 50/50 tire. I run tubes in my Tiger and my V-Strom has tubeless rims so I have a set on it without tubes. I have never converted a tube type rim over to tubeless so I am afraid I cannot be of any assistance with that project. Good luck on your project and let me know how it turns out for you.
