Dunn D- Pull Your Head In Mate Produced by Dunn D & Callum Ball Music and lyrics written by Dunn D Recorded, mixed and mastered by Callum Ball Video filmed and edited by Callum Ball
Lyrics: Do you remember when we used to write raps upstairs at the pub? Lazy days with crazy mates, putting drinks on my tab getting drunk And back then I used to go hard while you always said no to the drugs But then you moved to the big smoke and the cracks started opening up So you can tell me till you’re blue in the face all the reasons that you turn to the shard Say you Self medicate just to help with the pain that still burns in your heart But while you were trying to blur out the past but couldn’t see it only worsens ya path For every time you found yourself on the pip you lost a piece of the person you are Cos it all went south but the situation can’t be helped Cos we said our piece and we aired our grief and all the memories are held And even if we ain’t spoken in a minute just know that I wish you well But pull your head in mate, pull your head in mate and have a long hard look at yourself Do you remember the first couple times you started packing it up? Back then it used to hide your problems now it just keeps stacking em up Told me that you kept a handle on it but it’s every day that you’re having to puff You couldn’t see the cost of the packets that you copped and the damage it’s done And I can admit there’s been times I miss having you round but that ain’t now We both watched over the years how your dreams drift away in them clouds You keep cycling round You chose that shit over everything without thinking about it, have you figured it out? For every time it lifted you up it always found a way of bringing you down Cos it all went south but the situation can’t be helped Cos we said our piece and we aired our grief and all the memories are held And even if we ain’t spoken in a minute just know that I wish you well But pull your head in mate, pull your head in mate and have a long hard look at yourself Remember a couple years back when you were down so I came for a drive? Called me up and told me you’d been clean a couple weeks and you were changing your life But as soon as I took one look at you man I saw the state of your eyes And even before you opened your mouth I could see it in your face, you were fried I heard you got locked up again bro, that’s a shame but ain’t a surprise Because you didn’t want to listen all the times when I sat their and gave you advice So you can choose to do the same old thing and get high every day of your life But I’m waving goodbye I don’t wanna have a front row seat just waiting for the day that you die Cos it all went south but the situation can’t be helped Cos we said our piece and we aired our grief and all the memories are held And even if we ain’t spoken in a minute just know that I wish you well But pull your head in mate pull your head in mate and have a long hard look at yourself
You got yourself through it don't sell yourself short , sure his music is helpful an inspiring but you did it yourself man it takes alot to admit an change ways 💯
This is the sort of music the music industry needs more of. Its refreshing to hear someone trying to lift people thru their drug problems in their music and not glorifying addiction for views and easy subject matter. What a tune aye
100%. I'm sick of some of these Aussie artists glorifying drug use like its cool, really hope this gets shared around this kind of music is what the younger generation needs to hear!!! Crazy how strong of a message a song can tell
1.5 years sober, a bloke in my detox centre put this on the TV about 3 days in helped me to change my life. I hope the lad who put it on is doing well now
Show me the person that saved you with out them even knowing it .. well you just watched him infknsperational there is always a message in his tunes you just got to listen #teamDunnD all day every fkn day #trendsetter💯✊️
Great job Puddles hope everything is still on track and wish nothing but the best for you and whatever you choose to chase I hope you reach! I just got off the heroin after 20 years. Get an injection every month and have since January and haven't looked back. I lost everything but I'm slowly getting it back and quicker than I thought. Should have my son back full time by September so yeah I know where your at. Just make sure you get rid of anything or anyone who could be a threatto your sober life. Goodluck!!!!!!
I started listening to your music when I was going hard on the drugs and I loved it. But I have been clean for half a dozen years now and I often avoid Aussie rap because it reminds me of times gone. But this is absolute magic mate and hits me right on the feels. Good work 🙏🏽
Whoever's reading this, i pray that whatever you're going through gets better and whatever you're struggling with or worrying about is going to be fine and that everyone has a fantastic day! Amen
Dunners you truly are one of my favourite people lad, the fact you went from who you were to who you are now gave me and still is giving me guidance to try and be better lad, thank you brother
The amount of lyricsm and talent you have is astonishing, every single song and every single track is allways brutally honest. Respect a man that can communicate honestly through music, love a man that can make it sound good while doing it. Your an inspiration. 🔥❤️
This is such a well written track, your a bloody genius writer dunnas, should be doing this shit for a living. Theres much less talented artists doing much bigger numbers. Elite rapper with a good singing voice, theres no reason you couldn't have a number 1 hit if you penned the right word's in the right order, the country sound is as in as ive ever seen it atm and your sound kind of crosses over to country when your on the strum. I dunno where im going with this now but anyway keep killing it mate.
Gotta love a song that really has true deep meaning!!! Relatable song to alot of people for obvious reasons, hope the message this song sends is a wakeup call for anyone that hears it and is choosing this path in life!!!
I got to the end and I was in tears mate, your music is just beautiful, over all the years listen to your music as a fan im honeslty proud of you mate, keep it up
