If there is an error like internet disconnection or power outage for a few minutes. Can we rejoin the test or not?

Hello, It's really hard to say if you'll get chance back to rejoin the test. Most of the students who faced these issues of power outage or connection issues, had to repurchase the test to appear again. The reason behind this was because the issue was from your side and not DET. Conversely, if there is some technical issue from DET's side, then they allow you to give test one more time with repurchasing it.

Hey hii I have given my test two times but my certificate is not valid and the reason is I'm looking out of the screen for longer period of time .. Which is not at all true I want to give again the test but my confidence level is getting down because what if i get the same again without my mistake🥺 Can you please suggest me something

Hello, I am sorry to hear about your invalidation. There should be something that's causing them to invalidate your test using this reason. Are you looking outside of screen during mid-section time? (i.e the few seconds when test switches from reading to writing). Remember, you are not supposed to look outside the screen for the 1 hour of test. While typing, you can look at your keyboard and type, however I always advice to keep checking your screen during typing as well to make sure that your eyes are on screen. Lastly, check your camera's quality and lighting in your room. There is a possibility that they are not able to see your eyes properly and hence judging based on that. Make sure that your face is always visible completely. Hello, So, the practice test score of 125-135 is a good score. In order to go a level more to achieve 145, you'll need to have fluency in your speaking with addition of some complex statements. Both writing and speaking answer should have less grammatical mistakes and wide variety of vocabulary. Less repetition and more synonyms will definitely add to your score. Try incorporating above in your practice test answers.

Hello, So DET's scoring criteria includes use of proper punctuation. So, in my understanding, you could lose marks in case your answers are written in all capital letters. That being said, I would strongly suggest you reach out to their support team to get exact answer for your question. Hello, I think that totally depends on how confident you feel about your preparation and your desired score. If you feel comfortable scoring 120 in practice test every time, then you should have an idea on how you need to perform to be able to score that on certified test. Hope that helps.

Hello, Yes, Not just in speaking section, But for all the sections your eyes should only be on screen. No where else. Ofcourse, you can look at the keyboard to type, But rest of time your eyes should not go off screen.

Hello, So, the range of 95 to 105 is a good score. However, you need to understand that scores in practice test doesn't guarantee you the same score on certified test. They just give you an idea on how your performance should be in order to score between the same score range

Hello, I think it depends on your target score and if you feel confident about your English skills. Let me remind you that practice test score does not guarantee you the same score in certified test. They help you understand the test format and give you idea on how you need to perform in order to achieve your desired score.

Hello, 115 is a good score. Your individual sub scores suggest that you are good in all the sections, however, to improve your score beyond 115, you'll have to make sure that you are making less errors. Check for small issues like punctuation and spellings. Check for your pronunciation. If you correct these mistakes, I think it will edge up your score to 120 and beyond Hope that helps.

Hello, You can use an external Keyboard for your certified test. The only thing you need to remember is that you cannot switch between the two keyboards during the test. If you are using external keyboard, then only use that throughout the test.

Nope, the real test has bit different questions rather than practice test and there a bit harder too. But, there is nothing to panic as the questions you get are not too hard to answer. All we need to do a little bit practice.

In Listening part, questions are much longer than practice test, other types of questions are nearly the same

The DET is an adaptive test. That means if you got a difficult question and you are unable to answer them, then the next question will be easier. And conversely, if the test is easier in start and you are able to answer comfortably, then the difficulty level increases gradually. Score of 120 in practice test is good. But it is hard to judge the score of actual test based on your practice test.

Trust me brother i did well on Duolingo. I watched 4-5 of your videos. Believe me I wrote everything down even like you. I gave the exam 2 times. Once 100 another time 105. I don't understand why I got so little. What should I do now? I bought another test

@@LearnwithNikunj brother I'm from Bangladesh. Sending my score was an emergency. My Ielts is 6.5. My university Duolingo requires 110. The practice test range was 100-120, 105-125, 90-110. I don't understand where the mistake is. I watched many of your videos even you didn't complete the photo section and got 145. I have also completed these.

@@Rose-fc2qw So, firstly, one thing to point out here is that your score doesn't just depend on one module completely. Even if my describe the image answer was short in comparison to what you wrote but there can be situation where I might have performed better in other sections and hence the score. Secondly, writing or speaking more isn't the key of Duolingo English Test. You need to make sure that there are few mistakes leading which you can get good score. Lastly, one question to you would be. If you've got 6.5 in IELTS, then is there any specific reason you are appearing for DET again?

Sir, it is important that the room for the test should be completely empty, that means there should not be anything in the room at all And when we give the test, we are asked to circulate the laptop around the room

Hello, So for your first question, It is ideal if your room is empty during the entire duration of test. If you are not able to find the empty room for yourself, Make sure that there are no movement behind you and also that there are no sounds in the background during the test. For your second question, no, You are not asked to circulate the laptop around the room.

Hello, 100 is a decent score. I think by making few changes to your answer you can increase it to 115 or more. Mainly students face issues with achieving good production score. In that case, make sure you understand the writing and speaking question. Secondly, make sure that you answer what is being asked. For example, if there are 3 sub question in a question, make sure that you are answering them specifically at first. Learn few synonyms, so that you can add variety of words in your answer to show off vocabulary. Try to learn some linking words as they would make your sentences complex. try forming your answer in the Intro+Main idea +conclusion for both speaking and writing answer. Basically, check out how I form the writing answer in my current and other practice test videos.

Hello, Yes, listening and speaking scores are assessed for your score in practice test. DET's practice test score is calculated by AI, and it marks all the sections to give you the approximate score range for your answers.

I don't think the scores you get on the mock test will be the same on the real exams, you must be aware that evaluations on the mock test are just automatic but the evaluation on the real test are going to be very complex.

Hello, Practice test score cannot be corelated to score on certified test. Practice tests are just meant to give students feel about how the actual test will be and what should they expect. Score on certified test completely depends on your ability to answer all the question types.

@@ijeomavivian379 Unfortunately, DET s an online only test, specifically made to be able to give English test online from anywhere. I agree with your point regarding Invalidation, however, if you follow their mentioned guidelines, you won't have to worry about getting Invalidated. My camera is my laptop's built in one. and the light on the top of the room is just so that my face is visible to the DET team. This is the rule and not complying to this can lead to invalidation. And NO, this doesn't affect your score in any way. To increase your score, I would suggest you make below changes into your answers. Try to learn some linking words as they would make your sentences complex. try forming your answer in the Intro+Main idea+conclusion for both speaking and writing answer. Hello, No, the headphones are not allowed on the certified test. The DET rules say that your eyes, ears and mouth should be clearly visible during the test.

Hello, You really need to practice every day to increase your typing speed. This is helpful as you need to write as much as you can in short period of time. It is difficult but not impossible.

Hello, So, it is not allowed legally for someone else to give exam on your behalf. You'll have to remember, that DET is an online exam and hence they have a very high standard for maintaining their strict policy. Doing such action can cause you a permanent ban from appearing the DET exams in future. That being said, I believe with good amount of practice, anyone can achieve the score that they desire, and I would strongly recommend you go through the test pattern to understand each question type and watch my question specific videos to understand how you can achieve high scores in each of them. Let me know in case you need any more help.

Read this please 👉The captured video or audio from your test session failed to upload properly or is corrupted. Your test will not receive a score. Please disable any third-party software, use a stronger internet connection, and try again. and they tell to take this take again without pay but sir i didn't use any third party app and alos there is no any app in background, so can u solve this problem 😢

Hello, Sorry to hear about that. So, few questions to get more clarification, 1. Are you giving test using DET's website or their app? 2. Are you using Laptop or desktop with external webcam? 3. Did you check your task bar before starting the test to make sure all other application were closed?

@@13.pyara.cartoon from the reason they provided, I don't think antivirus should cause an issue. But just to be on safe side, it is better to uninstall it for the test and reinstall it later. Another suggestion from my side is that talk with their support team and try to understand more about why this reason was provided. Hello, For read and speak, I would advice you to read the sentence first in your mind with it's proper pronunciation. Practice hard to increase your speed in doing so. And that should help you get past the read and speak question type.

Yes, and that is why they say that DET is an adaptive test. Performing better states that you are comfortable with that level of English proficiency and they can test your higher level with the upcoming difficult questions.

believe me practice only allows you to adopt the test methods and ways, also your ability to detect which sample comes after which. it doesn't elevate your vocabulary or spelling skills.
