WOW congrats to DUOTONE for launching the most expensive inflatable kite on the market (3450e for a 12m). Also can you please bring us back the NORMAL Rebel (non SLS, non Dlab), with non inflated price. Thank you very much, waiting for it to make an order.
Seems like the main achievement of Aluula is to double the price of any kite😂 Now you can buy one kite for the price of a full quiver a few years back...
Ruben is hilarious haha, immediately after that lateback he's like nah this thing doesn't turn that quick. Pulling Lasse's chain every time he makes a grandiose claim about the rebel d lab. Trust the OG big air godfather to give the honest review 🙌
It will depend on the wind and mainly what judges will like. If it comes to big simple loop, Andrea will probably choose the Rebel. But if it comes to the double loop game, it seems that the Evo D-Lab is more appropriate.
@@Baptiste_L thanks for your bro-sience. But, lets be honest. Pro like Andrea will take the kite that will allow him to win the KOTA. That will be the over all result what is better for winning. no offence.
Cool to see how Duotone is pushing the innovation of kite construction, but I'm gonna stay with Cabrinha, where I can buy a new Kite of 2022 for less than 20% of the DLABs price.
Doesn't look like Ruben is buying the whole new Rebel DLAB is better then Evo DLAB talk.. Seems like Duotone lost their star designer and are trying to push their Rebel DLAB that was designed by Sky Solbach to prove a point. Sure, Rebel has more hang time and better upwind due to higher aspect ratio, but it looks like it stalls in the loop (look at 07:25). And if you look at it compared to Harlem Thrive that is about 30% cheaper, Rebel DLAB is not looking very attractive.
Haha like we talk about - it’s a different kite and have their place in the range. I think it’s really good and a huge step forward from the Rebel SLS which already was my kite of choice. Give it a try at a Duotone demo and see for yourself 😁 Ps. Sky has been very successful designing the Rebel since 2007 already 🔥
Hah, Lasse seemed fully in love with this kite so I needed to get him out of the bubble a little but. He's got some valid points tho and the performance speaks for itself. Feel it and find out, right? You don't have to buy it, but it's there if you love it. - ruben
I understand Duotone decision to make a five struts Aluula kite, it make sense (and many other brands have one). But I agree, Duotone should not burry Ralf. He is a great designer and made great kites.... and Ken also. It will be a big task for Sky and I'm sure he will succeed. When Pat left North (or Damien with Naish) they had the curtesy to recognize their work.
From the few ive tried Aluula doesnt necessarily help for general bar pressure and its still design dependent. Turning should be easier, but depending on how far forward the kites fly, you may have to hold more back line pressure on the bar in order to keep the kite powered up and not flying out of the wind window.
We always prefer and suggest using the brand's bar as it's specifically made and set for it. Especially for the high-end kites it's more precise feeling and way of use. If you wish to use something else, good luck mixing and matching. I hope you find your ideal cocktail ;-) - ruben
I have a harlem lead that works perfectly with duotone, but now I'd go with a core sensor 4. Core sensor was my favorite bar, but sensor 3 is dangerous with duotone kites (safety doesnt work)
haven't tested it but saw a review on Getting high with mike channel of the sensor 4 where he told it is. They changes to single front line safety for pace pro
Guys, i hear a lot of people thinking the Evo dlab os great for progression tricks, im in doubt between the evo and rebel, will i have the same fast progression with the rebel vs the evo?
It depends on where you want to progress. If you're aiming for technical loops with board-off rotations, the Evo D/Lab is likely the better choice. However, if you want to do high boosts and extreme megaloops, the Rebel D-Lab is the superior option. Both kites loop extremely quickly and easily in low winds! Feel free to call us if you have any more questions!🤙
Slow to complete the last part of the loop, maybe the wind was slightly low. Climbing back to 12 did not look amazing. Time will tell for durability at 10psi many exploded with 7.
Watched it a bit more closely again… this is the new (?) team series. Pretty sure. But it seems to have the Jaime outline including its signature rails.
Hoping the kite industry doesnt mirror the windsurf industry. Everything becoming high tech and completely overpriced - making the sport too expensive and inaccessible for thousands of people 😢
