I tried out Black Honey back in the 90’s in high school. A friend‘s mom had it. There was no way I was going to convince my mom to buy me a Clinique lipstick but I quickly discovered that Dr. Pepper Lip Smackers is a dead ringer. Well over 2 decades later & I still reach for it (the Lip Smackers, not Clinique🤣) regularly!

Yes! I had a tube way back in the late 90's. It was a lovely, deep sheer shade for women of colour. Probably one of the first higher end, deeper shades that was easily accessible. Outside of MAC, and possibly Revlon lipstick (blackberry in creme and in frost finishes), it was hard to find shades that deeper complexions could easily apply....especially in Canada. So, Black Honey was a welcome addiction in my life.

I’m 61, I used black honey in high school. It was a pot of lip gloss and it was almost black, much thicker and darker than the version they sell now. I do love these dupes. Always love your videos.

ELF’s sheer slick lipstick in Black Cherry is also an awesome dupe. As a side note, the shade Golden Pear is another great color in this formula.

In high school (1980s) I used a number of Clinique items for my skin care. The gift with purchase always contained a slim black honey lipstick in green plastic packaging. I recently picked up an elf lip balm in black cherry and I think it’s a pretty good match.

Former Clinique white coat, here! The closest dupe I knew of to Black Honey was the Revlon Lip Butter in Fig Jam, which is also no longer available ☹️ boo! I need to contact Revlon and see what they would recommend in their current lines. Black Honey was basically a very sheer raisin color, it's not too hard to find!

Yes, I've used the Clinique Black Honey for many years (15+), and the Nivea Lip Balm in "Blackberry" is similar in color, only deeper and bluer, which works better for pigmented lips like mine. It also feels equally moisturizing.

I have a dupe...Lancome's L'Absolu Madamoiselle Shine in 397 "Call Me Shiny" it's not drugstore but it's an exact dupe!! I recently found a Black Honey at Ulta that was put in the wrong place and it's as good as I remember!! It looks beautiful on every skintone, no matter how fair or dark you are, I think that's what makes it so special. I wore it in High School too lol

I’ve been using black honey for years! If my memory serves me, lip smackers Dr. Pepper is a good dupe, too 😀. I’ve gone through tubes of that because it’s inexpensive and you can just swipe it on even without a mirror.

I searched for years for a lip shade that looked like Liv Tyler's in The Lord of the Rings. I finally found an article that talked about the makeup used on her and it turned out it was Clinique's Black Honey. They applied it by dabbing it on lightly. I think it makes for the most stunning natural but better look.

I work in the cosmetics section in a drug store and people are always asking if we have Black honey. We have the lip balms but not that shade. Good to know that Burt's Bee's Daisy is a close match because we do have that one. I have been wearing the Burt's Bee's tinted balms since last winter and I love them. They add a bit of tint and a lot of moisture. I will recommend this to customers that ask about black honey, thank you. I only just found your channel recently but I'm glad you did. Black Honey is nice, but Black Lily was my love. It had more of a sheer plummy pink tone to it, as opposed to the sheer brownish pink tone of the Honey. When Lily was discontinued, I called Clinique and was told that Honey was the equal replacement. NO, IT'S NOT! Black Lily looked SO much better on my very fair, slightly warm undertone skin, and I got so many compliments. Clinique needs to bring it back!

I’m digging out my Black Honey by Clinique now! I’ve had it forever.. It initially goes on seriously dark and then lightens after a few minutes. I have a mini version of Black Honey. It came in a gift set a couple of Christmas’s ago. I wasn’t the biggest fan, but it looks great on my daughter’s complexion. She has porcelain skin with a smattering of freckles, and the contrast between the two is lovely.

I love Black Honey! Its been a fave of mine for years! A long time ago another RU-vidr, I can't remember who or I'd give her credit, suggested Almay's Smart Kiss Butter Kiss in Berry Medium and the Revlon Kiss Balm in Berry Burst. I have both and they are very similar to the Black Honey.

I had a "full size" black honey lipstick 💄 way back that I'd forgotten about. I had been complacent on my makeup and not gone into my collection much for quite a while. I looked everywhere but think I might have tossed it when we moved? I was disappointed but put it on my new wishlist. But just recently I went thru what I did have left of my things to check them all & clean the whole collection up. I was thrilled to find I actually had another black honey I'd gotten in a gift set I'd never even used!! Hello, I was able to get the Clinique A kiss of sweetness gift set for 9.50 at Sephora. I contains a mini Black honey and a mini pink honey. I also have the Elf black cherry hydrating lip balm and the 2 seem to be very similar. The clinique is a firmer product while the elf is softer. There also seemed to be another Burts Bees color I think it is red dahlia.

Hello beautiful! So have you tried Revlon's Super Lustrous Cherries in the Snow? The whole Super Lustrous is a very mosturizing lip tint in a lip stick tube. I found mine at Big Lots for under $2. Try it before you do your compassion video, it might surprise you! Love your channel, keep being amazing!

I wore this almost every day in the 90s too ❤️ my best friend used to just do a small swipe of color, whereas I would build that baby uppppppppp. Clinique was the first bougie brand of makeup I ever used. Man, those free gift with purchases used to KILL me. Can’t just buy 1 product, it didn’t meet the minimum. Ya had to buy at least 2. I liked that marble mint green packaging do they still do that?? I have used black honey since Monica from FRIENDS made it viral back in the 90s and the dupe that I found since back then shadewise is from avon its a lipbalm called slick tint in the shade divine wine.. And right now black honey is available inside of one of the holiday lip sets from sephora

Hi Zabrena! I have Black Honey and I think the closest is the last one. It is very hydrating, as all Clinique lipsticks are, but one thing I don't like is if you have chapped lips, oddly enough every bites appear darker. I worked at Clinique for a while and I can tell that some hydrating chubby sticks, Graped up, Fuller fig or Richer Raisin look very similar on the lips, but keep in my mind the end result will be different from one another depending on the natural tint of your lips. Right now, Sephora Canada has a 4 pieces kit with the Black Honey in it with a liner, mascara and a highlighter, don't know if available in US though.

Sephora has the Clinque Touch of Honey almost lipstick duo where you get 1.13 grams (verus 2 for full size) of both Black Honey AND Pink Honey for 9.95. 10 out of 10 would recommend! Especially with code FREESHIP so no extra delivery fee!

I went and got it when there was a craze like 15-20 years ago (i cant even remember). I didnt enjoy it like it seemed everyone else in the world did. But some of these dupes look more like what i wanted from it! :) slightly more pigment, more moisture, and better scented. (I know clinique does unscented to be more clean, but mine smelled like weird wax) Thank you for this video! 🧡👍🧡👍

Another balm that is maybe close but not an exact dupe it the Nivea Black Cherry lip balm. It is a beautiful lip balm and love it as it hydrates my lips better than the Black Honey. Originally they made a lipstick but later it was more of a balm and not sure why they stopped the lipstick but I was lucky to get a sample from ULTA this past summer but reach for my Nivea first. Thanks for the dupes and your channel

Hi Zabrena Do try catrice lip balm in dark lip glow. It is black in colour. Lovely lip balm, ver moisturising & the colour goes from black gloss to blackberry to the most beautiful berry colour.

Clinique's Black Honey lipstick was my first lipstick. I got a free sample back in the 90s as a teenager. Every time I turned around it seemed, I was getting another free sample. I don't think I've ever actually had to buy one. For years that was all I was brave enough to wear. It's so weird to hear that they're suddenly so popular and sold out everywhere.

OMG!!! I’ve been wearing black honey since I was a baby! My mother put it on me like cheek hue, lips, eyeshadow, everything! I was just thinking about getting some now that masks are more optional.

Oooh! KOSAS has a lip balm that is the shape of the Hurrah (sp?) brand that you like. It's the Kosas Sport. I believe they also come in colored balms as well as clear.
