The man depicts balancing a life by physically balancing his online life with his outside life at the same time, hence the grass wheel signifying real life. He is pushed to create content but needs to set aside time for work as a cashier presumably at Walmart. And because of that, it piles pressure on him because he isn't using that time for creating content making others following him feel as if he is slacking, hence the computer face screen getting mad when he is working. Towards the end of the clip, you can see the cat is back again going crazy with pictures as he has had time during work to think about them and publishes them quickly to make up for the time loss of his work.
Amazing! This perspective is pretty accurate! Also, did you notice the battery in the bottomright corner? That also adds some weight to your statement :]]
Love the Super Mario Maker music from the maker bot menu (1st edition). I would genuinely just sit there on my DS doing nothing, just listening to the beat.
I feel like this is about work favoritism but im not sure (one gets applauded so he works better while we keep asking the other one to do better and he stay still so he just give up)
Something I noticed that I noticed that's probably an insignificant detail: the "artist" one get genuine praise and encouragement, albeit overbearing. The "math" one seems to have only told to go faster and go, no actual positive reinforcement, possibly being an analogy for fans only wanting to see the "typical" content from a creator, and doesn't want to see change or variety.
I think it's about how life pressures each profession to work faster and faster. Thus their health degrades and can find the time to fulfill their needs, so they have to make do with whatever they can. And eventually the stress and burnout are to much for them to handle so they fall off. Only to be replaced with another ambitious person. btw your animations are fire. Edit: the face also corresponds to the stigmas about certain jobs
@@InvaderBBi see that and other intentions. That is what makes his animations so good, is the wide array of adaptation for the concept of his art. Makes it relatable, or understandable, to a larger audience. Im trying to figure out why the second character prints green paper. I think if it was money itd have some sort of indication of currency. Anyone?
The blue one is the creative persona, making things purely based on what stretches their creative muscles and occasionally makes a stranger excited. However, the blue one has to deal with the reality of having to sustain the artist, so it trades places with the economic persona who just creates what gets it money even if it has to risk the unhealthy culture of commissions, anything it can to gain a burst of financial stability that allows the creative persona to take over again. Amazing work as always Andy ❤❤❤ EDIT: the screen on the side that shows up while the blue one is working is the media that it consumes to fuel its passion. Everything in the feed is outlined in green, whereas the blue one sporadically marks its art with yellow and red in addition to green. This is because the only things that show up on its feed are the posts that are really successful, causing it too be biased and more critical of its work since the media it consumes sets such a high standard. The faces on the ladder react positively to all of the artworks even the ones that were deemed mediocre by the artist, so this is a flawed assessment.
Supply battery is lowering but get energy back when money come forward, then when dupi do art for itself and not for commission the battery doesn't move. I love the details in your work, it's abstract, unnerving and confusing but so interesting and with your different art styles its just fucking good
best thing about being a coder; i understand that stress fully you havent truly felt pressure until you've been in one of these jobs that people think just happen instantly coding takes time, music takes time, art takes time
This actually represents how burnout is. At first, you enjoy the things your doing. Then it just starts feeling like another chore. Something you despise to do. It also shows that burnout effects everyone in all different types of ways. You could feel it from doing a job like art, of just by doing something like math. Great work :)
Ok so i watched this and found out that: The artist drains battery but gets positive feedback The mathematicians restores it but only gets critisism and is rushed They look at eachother before switching roles
Im not one but i feel that theyre passionate and sometimes need a small break when they have to administrate money social life and dont post nothing people think theyre lazy but thats my opinion! :3
@@markuspurple8619 I remember my parents didn’t think a wii u was worth it and got mw mario maker for 3ds. You couldn’t even share levels, but I was a small child and didn’t really care
the looping videos are staggeringly well made, each with lots of dynamic parts that all perfectly blend together to make something you can't stop watching
My favorite thing about this animation is that when dupi (the blue cat) paints on a new canvas, the supply meter goes down before it eventually depletes. Then the other guy, the taxpayer, has to come in and sell dupi's artwork to replenish his supplies so dupi can keep painting and making money
I never do any commission but like that one guy in the comment says that the supply battery represent your energy available for doing commissioning, the lower the battery the more stressful you'll get while drawing, so that's where the white cat comes into play... Commission earns you money, what is the best way to make yourself feel better and improving your motivation? Of course it's money, the white cat counts in the money that the blue cat earned from the comission, with the money flowing the supply battery fills up because the mind of the blue cat has been healed with all the sorts of motivation from earning those money, once the supply battery reaches the max. The blue cat then come into play, drawing for itself, you can see the battery doesn't go down, my reason is because the mind of an artist is wide, variable, if us artist want to draw the stuff "We Wanted" to draw, we can just focus on drawing it without losing energy, because the artist can just go relax and complete the drawing because we know it's our drawing, no one is there to tell us to " sorry but can you hurry up?", We're basically isolating ourselves with our art alone and share it to others... This is what my thoughts about the video with a small explanation from that comment fellow I'm a low tier artist but I will keep on improving...
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, being an artist is an okay job but you’re only human, if you can’t take the job don’t blame the people asking for your artwork, your fans, just don’t do it. A bit unrelated there but apparently it really works people off
@@jayjyuri8796 I might start do comission if I ever wanted to get what I wanted, physical work is just killing me and with the broken economy in my country, whole part time job isn't worth every hour... Yeah, even then, you're right that we're all human, but that doesn't stop me from achieving my goal... I have my reasons
@@SharkTheMoved content creator too, u spend time to make video and then a hour later u take your profits from the video you makes and its charge your battery (energy) back, and yes money can buy you happiness
