Thanks for the input. However you are supposed to let it dry before removing the masking. The overspray was not an issue since it is meant to peel right off. If this was actually paint then I could see your point but it is not really a paint but a coating which adheres but does not bond with the paint or clear coat under it.
thank you for the review. does the texture/finish have the same porous/tacky quality that plasti-dip has that makes it next to impossible to wipe down or clean without special chemicals? or is it smoother to the point that it won't pick up dust and dirt very easily? was thinking about covering my wood trim in my interior with this stuff, but don't want them to discolor or become a haven for dust particles over time.
thank you for the comment. I am glad that you found the review helpful. I have not used plastidip so I am not sure what the finish is like on that product but the dupi-color finish is very smooth. I have had this application on my vehicle for 13 months now and have kept it outside, washed it like I normally wash my car and it is still looking very good. It is a smooth finish and cleans up like any other trim pieces. It also has not faded at all since I applied it.
perfect, thank you very much for the quick reply! this looks to be exactly what i'm looking for. plastidip is a fine product, but i was unimpressed with how the black plastidip would turn brown over time due to it absorbing brake dust.
Justin Orrell thanks for the comment. I hadn't done a video like that before and didn't plan out what I wanted to say so I apologize if it is kind of tough to listen to at times.
In my opinion, they are too similar to put one over the other. I think it all comes down to what is available and price. They are both very durable products
that is correct if this was actually paint but it is just a rubber/soft plastic type coating, not paint. The overspray came off with no problem and after a year it is still hanging tough. I could go out there tomorrrow and remove it with no damage to the part of paint.
@@secaboy it stands up very well. When i did this video I also did the chevy bowtie on the front grille and after two years they still look as good as when I sprayed it on. So it holds up very well
