The stories in DuPont Theater were based on true stories in this outstanding anthology television series from the 1950's. A teenage Italian boy comes to the Unite States to attend high school as an exchange student. His visit with the American family, and the teenagers in the high school, personifies the 1950's lifestyle experience in the United States. The boy is thrilled, happy, and finds the life in America is better than he ever imagined. The pretty girl and the boyfriend create an interesting teenage dynamic to the story. When his mother is in need of surgery, what should he do? Starring Peter Reynolds as Nicolo, James Sealy as Mr. Watson, Sheila Bromley as Mrs. Watson, Joe Perry as William Dircks, Susan Odin as Martha Watson' Gary Gray as John Sargen, Michael Winkelman as Georgie, Lorey Allen as Jean, and Tom Brant as the boy. Airdate January 1, 1957. Complete with commercials for Dupont. In the one and only commercial (those were the days) cartoonist Tex Antoine uses his famous easel to tell the story of a man starting a business. Transferred from 16mm b-w film.

Tex was primarily a weather forecaster. He delivreed a nightly forecast, using his illustrations- including his cartoon mascot, "Uncle Wethbee"- on New York's WRCA-TV [WNBC-TV] at the time.

Very well acted and enjoyable. Can you post the one they advertised for the following week, with Ann Harding? She's such a wonderful actress.

We used to have this, and we let it get away. I wish they'd have shown how important faith was, during this time. On Sunday, everyone went to church. People went, even in the 60s. On Saturday's Jewish went to Temple, and Catholic's went to daily Mass. We had all different religions, but formed cohesive neighborhoods.

He would not have just arrived in Portland. It's a 21 hour plane ride alone. And he was on a bus? He would have flown to NYC first.
