They don't come any better than Richie. He is truly the heart and soul of The Duprees and nobody can replace him! Richie is truly the heart and soul of The Duprees and nobody but nobody can sing like him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. Mike
Their were many singers over the years that used the name of The Duprees to further their careers. But we have to pay credit to the original hit makers. I'm talking about the real deal. Joey Canzano aka Joey Vann, Joe Santollo, Tom Bialoglow, John Salvato and Mike Arnone are the founding members of The "Original" Duprees. Without our hits on the Coed Label their would have been no Duprees. The "Original" Duprees are often imitated but never duplicated. Being an "Original" Dupree I can attest to that fact. And what keeps our music alive is the fact that it is still played across America and the world.
I love the way Richie coordinated the audience participation with the "Teenager In Love" song. Besides being a wonderful singer, he has a great personality and sense of humor.😊❤❤❤❤
Those songs will never go out of style. Even though I was born in 1989 a millinial. Those songs is what I was raised up on in a Lil country town in North Carolina our radio station that played those songs were 96.5fm. wish I could go back there would be a lot of things that I would do differently.
RICHIE ROSATO IS THE BEST LEAD SINGER OF THIS GROUP THE DUPREES, BUT THE OTHER CHORISTS SING VERY WELL AS WELL! ALL IN ALL, THE DUPREES ARE MY BEST DOO WOP GROUP. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS AMAZING CONCERT.
His voice, Richie that iis like liquid gold and is one of the few great great singers left in the industry!!! Richie you are the best I can listen to you sing all day. Numero Uno, Bella, Bravo 100 times over! Mike from the Bronxj. I've been writing songs and singing for almost 50 years and Richie although I have a great voice I can't come close to you that's for sure and not many artists can that's why you are one of the best in the world and that's the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me God!!?
Thanks for posting this fabulous fabulous 2 shows featuring The Duprees hits and songs from yesteryear including the new Christmas song written by Phil Granito and Richie Rosato. I love that Christmas song. It is so different from all the other songs we hear all the time. Simple but meaningful and beautiful and that's the trademark of most actually all of The Duprees songs and that's what I think sets them apart from all the others.
I must go now to watch the concert for the 12th time within 24 hours. It is too bad they took down my information that I wrote to Tony but I understand I do have autographed photos of The Duprees but not with Richie Rosato. I also have tons of photos of me with The Duprees so you're not hurting me but it's really sad that I'd like to really get Richie's autograph I need took my contact information down which I thought was rude. Oh well you have to do what you got to do. Have a great night everybody. I've been a photojournalist for 50 plus years and I've been with the doo-wop circuit for a long time but unfortunately never got to photograph Richie and that's why they autographed with well it meant so much to me but I know Tony would do me that favor cuz he's a great guy if you still have my information if you could pass it along I'd appreciate that very much pleased if you still have that information that you deleted on me. That's why I wrote it for a reason not to waste my breath or time.
I love the way Richie coordinated this audience participation. The way he got the men and the women on stage to do that Dion & The Belmonts song. He is so smooth and funny too. He has a great personality. ❤❤❤ 22:09
Some of most beautiful love ballads Ever recorded. Richie Rosato deserves a wider following (he & Duprees) sell out Atlantic City very quickly. They brought the code SRO back in style.
I'm 81 next week. I grew up on this music. How fortunate was I to have lived in this era of "almost normal" society. My grandchildren ask me how great it was, and I tell them there are no words to express the joy and excitement of that age.
Nobody can sing like the Duprees , my life long following of this fabulous group.. Long Live Doo-Wop..Thanks for posting this Duprees extravaganza !!!!!
Sadly he was kicked out by the walking pile of ego that is Tony Testa as soon as Mike Arnone passed away. They claimed to honor his memory but changed the singer HE picked at the first opportunity.
The Duprees is One of my Best Doo Wop Group from the beginning 1961 / 1979. I love this Fantastic Concert from the year 1995 . The Voice of Richie is Wonderful !!!!! Thank you for Sharing .
I want to give a shout out to Phil Granito, great singer and performer Phil has a lot of energy and excellent stage presence that's what I love about Phil and Jimmy and Tony you guys are great as well. So I guess when you put all the ingredients in the sauce to make the pasta you guys are number one and always have been number one in my book. God bless you all and Tony, blessings on your retirement I will sure miss you in the group. Now it's time for you to take it easy and watch to the Dupree's yourself. Tony, you made all your dreams come true and you should be so proud of that I am very proud of you and what you have done with the group, congratulations in a heartfelt thank you for all the years of hard work and effort that you put in to the Duprees you were the multi-tasker and did a great job at it and will be missed sorely. Tony, blessings on your retirement, your friend Mike from the Bronx I give you an A+++++±+++++Plus, plus plus plus plus! 😁😁😁😁😁
My Last Words to this Group `` YOU ARE AN APPRECIATED GROUP FROM THOSE GOOD TIMES AND TO THE PRESENT!!!! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SONGS AND I WILL REMAIN PROUD OF YOU AT ALL TIMES!!!!!!! Best regards from Indonesia ,,,,, Walter .
It was my idea to record "Gone With The Wind" I first heard the song on a Sinatra album. I pushed to record it, along with Joe Santollo. We were both Sinatra fans. It was our fifth single release. Tom Bialoglow Founding Member of The "Original" Duprees.
Love your songs. My favorite is, You belong to me & Why don't you believe me...my brother and I grew up with your songs. He passed away in 95'. He was only 47. I was 46....we both loved oldies but goodies... .
Richie Rosato is truly a great lead singer, but no one will ever compare to the original lead of the Duprees, Joey Vann Canzano. Joey's beautiful and tender voice was THE VOICE of the original Duprees. There is no mistaking when Joey Vann is singing lead - his voice was simply awesome beyond belief. Listen to some of their early tunes and you'll know exactly what I'm saying.
The song Gloria was a very favorite doo whop song of mine for many, many years. Richie certainly does it justice . Richie has such a good sense if humor. I love his jokes. I was only 45 yrs old in 1995. I'll never know where the time went since then.
Wow where did you find that video!!! The Duprees will never be the same without Richie. Best voice ever!! Listen to that Acapella - Richie singing GLORIA - what a voice!
Not only were the Duprees familiar faces, I was surprised to see Eric,, the sax player. I know him from My Music on PBS.He's great. Over all a great concert.
Excellence personified... Doo-wop Dwight. Bridgeport, Connecticut. Home of The Carnations and their hit Long Tall Girl. Having performed Doo-wop since the mid fifties I can tell you few people can appreciate what goes into putting on a performance like this one. 'Nuff said!!!...PS. I'd love to hear them do... You're My Heart's Desire...
What I find interesting with Richie the lead for over 25 years, and as I said before "the voice of the Duprees", and no disrespect to Joey Vann, you don't see any mention of that except from those that had the chance to see and hear him perform.
Thank you so much for posting this awesome occasion, the Duprees war fabulous all the different versions of the Duprees over the years. This could possibly be my favorite foursome. Thank you for sharing. Love, papa Duke.
Perfect pitch by Ritchie Rosato . Made the Duprees famous RIP Ritchie . Sacred to your one everyone’s memory of you and a Capella Doo Wop street corner ballads .
I agree with the comment below. Ritche is the missing ingredient to make this group great again. The group hasn't been the same since he has been gone.
Going on 27 years ago -------------where, oh where, do the years go ? 27 years ago, I was 48 y/o, & still tearing it up in life. Now ?? Not so much. not, at all. -----------------MJL< 75 y/o
Only Mike Arnone and Joe Santollo went to Dickinson High School. John Salvato went to Snyder High School. Joey Vann and myself went to Ferris Kigh School.
Chubby and I used to sing originally in Hamilton Park under the gazebo. I was called "Bomb" . Our group was called The Utopians. Brian Moran and Jackie Smith sang with us. When we broke up we formed The Duprees.
None of them are originals. Joey Canzano also known as Joey Vann, Joe Santollo, John Salvato, Mike Arnone and myself Tom Bialoglow are the "Original" Coed recording hit makers.
