GTFOH with your underrated asses...This freaking song was HUGE in the US AND in the UK: # 14 UK Singles Chart , # 4 Billboard Hot 100, # 13 Billboard Modern Rock Tracks, # 1 Billboard Hot Dance Club Play....And the Big Thing album was a worldwide smash hit as well. This video was all over MTV that fall & winter...And at Christmastime, they followed this one up with "All She Wants Is", another major hit on the pop, dance, AND modern rock charts. In fact, Big Thing was still riding those two tracks so strongly into the next year, that they were able to put out a third single (Do You Believe In Shame) the following spring. AND finally, A CD reissue of Big Thing (with one bonus track) was released in 1994, & THEN the album was reissued AGAIN in 2010 (over 20 years after its initial release) as a three-disc boxset-- That tells you everything you need to know about the album's full impact.
I was 14 years old in France, in 88, and i remember , it was regulary broadcasted in charts. But he most succesfull tube in France was " Wild Boy's in 85
Man i forgot how good this was. I haven't heard this since i was a kid. Holy shit that took me back. I spent years knowing only the i don't want your love but i never could remember who sang it. I am so glad i found it and was able to add it to my playlist
Funny story.. 19 year old daughter walks in room while I'm playing this, when it first shows John at "Hey" she says "hey damn..that's a good looking face!!" She asked was this Duran Duran and how she loves them. She proceeded to start naming off alot of Duran Duran songs. "Mom, everyone my age loves Duran Duran because they're great all around.." I was shocked . I knew she heard quite a bit from her dad and I growing up but had no clue how big a fan she and her friends have become. Sorry for the long story.. I was gobsmacked but also very proud of her for being a fan. My generation grew up with them on the screen/ radio so it is nice to see a generation who loves the music as well without seeing the iconic videos.. Sorry for the long story!!
You daughter has very excelent taste in music and man 😊. I felt the same way when I first saw john he's definitely the most beautiful man on this planet and I fell in love with him since the first time i laid eyes on him 😍😍
...this came out at the tail-end of the CLUB DAZE, when people actually danced, connected, and created a positive vibe!!...LOOOOOOOOOOOVE this band!!...
@@johnlopez3996 They have worked with many drummers like jerry cucurullo (warren`s bro), sterling Campbell , steve ferroni, alex j rusta, steve alexander, terry bozio , Tony Thompson and joe Trevors.
Перевернул весь интернет. Искал эту песню с 90-х. Как то услышал ее малым. И сразу запомнилась. Только благодаря тому что вспомнил припев, нашел ее только сейчас.
Still a fan of Duran when they put this out but was more into INXS...two of the greatest bands of all time and always will be. "Big Thing" was an album that I couldn't relate to much but the single releases were amazing.
Three of my favorite bands imho are INXS, Depeche Mode and Duran Duran. Altho with me I put Duran at nr.1 because Its the band with the most songs I like from them and they pretty much started this craze for excentrical artists in my life. They were the first band I started to listen daily and follow "per say". Hungry like the wolf is still one of the earlier childhood jam memories followed closely by Personal Jesus and Everything Counts by Depeche Mode. As far as single artists go Michael Jackson was my favorite since my childhood and probably will always be my favorite. Bad is probably the most listened to song in my life and we also cant forget my child self copying his moves. First major music influence in my life was MJ hands down then later discovering bands it was DD. Through DD and that genre of music I pretty much discovered INXS and Depeche Mode later. Never stoped listening since!
The song: " I Don't want your l love" lt's annoving when you discover that the person you love has comeone else, the love is no longer the same. This song is very beautiful because it makes us forget the sadness and only brings us joy.🎤🎼🕪🎶♩🎵
This song and its album were what got me into Duran Duran. I distinctly remember hearing it for the first time on the radio directly after Erasure’s “Chains of Love.”
I forgot Warren was involved this early on. My husband was a big Frank Zappa fan and thanks to me (and a bit because of Warren) he revised his opinion of Duran Duran and came to enjoy them too. This album should have been so much bigger.
I remember this song well. It was the fall of 88 and I was in the hospital with a bone infection. Our local radio station WLOL would play this all the time. Man, I can’t believe it’s been 33 years
"Pick it Up!"...It is PHYSICIALLY IMPOSSIBLE to sit still when this song play. That's a challenge try to seat completely still. (LOL) Your foot will tap, you'll find yourself swayyinhg. Thisis my Jam from that album. Oh0 and Shelter.
