How do these guys manage to keep a song from their early ages sounding so freaking good? John is nailing it, and Simon isn't showing any wear or tear on his voice.
Let's not forget, Simon had his vocal cords damaged some time ago where they honestly didn't think he would be able to sing again. Here he is singing better. What a trooper.
This is my absolute favorite Duran Duran song. I'm so glad they played it the "correct" way--in previous concerts they always did a slowed down version.
The DD fans freakin LOVE when you play the oldies!! That's why we pay to see you live... in hopes you'll play the songs we love .. Songs from 1979-1987... Faster than light, Late Bar, Fame, Come up see me make me smile... Your MILLIONS of true duranies want MORE of the original New Wave sound you brought to America!! Go back to your roots and have fun making revolutionary music!!! We miss you!!!
I can't stop watching this!!! Everyday I get on youtube, I come straight to this video!!! The close up shots of John masterfully handing that bass is everything!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
Are you sober? Masterfully handling a bass? Seriously? Most people don't hear the bass guitar. I was with Duran from the start. You need to read a book
@@amandakeogh9711 Excuse me?? You need to open a book, because you make so sense at all. And yes I said MASTERFULLY!!!! and if you were with Duran from that start, you should know this!!! You also need to clean out your ears, because Duran Duran is ALL ABOUT the bass. Is this Amanda DeCadenet?? lol
Duran's astounding catalogue is so over-packed that this groove-laden wonder had been laid aside for far too along. Very clean and crisp sound here, something you don't get at all venues. Excellent!
@@brettgustin9471 Of course, but their ability to craft great new songs still continues - a little different, naturally, but still very "Duran". The Future Past album is packed with great songs - it is amazing what Nick, Simon and the guys keep doing.
This is my all-time fave DD song, including bsides. I was thinking of hitting the Dublin show but passed. Thank you for sharing such a clear video with the new Rio bass on display! So happy they played the full song with my fave Si lyrics! Hope they bring this into the fold should they come to Europe *coughBerlincough* later this year!
What. A. GEM! Thanks heaps for this rockin vid. Solid aim at John Taylor nailing that absolute belter of a baseline! And the Duran Duran lads still executing this rare gorgeous new wave classic, Last Chance on the Stairway, to utter perfection AND LIVE forty years later!
I still have the tape recorded from the radio of their Glasgow Apollo concert in 1981. This song played them was superb. Why the backing singers are silent I don't know. A let down for a powerful song.
