@xmysteryz Absolutely not overlooking Andy's contribution to the song. His playing was over the top on this track. Duran was always at their best with Andy. Miss him ... wish he would come back!!!
Andy always had the most music theory and the songs were better with his writing talents and chord progression understanding and song structure. This threatened Nick, and frustrated Andy. That's why the Astronaut album was the best one since 1985. Think of all the junk DD put out from 1985 to 2005. 20 years of okay music.
I remember the first tour i saw was 7 and the ragged tiger, when i was 12, and boy does this take me back to 1983 December 6th Manchester Apollo and 8th and 12th at Leeds Queens Hall England!
I see a lot of people saying Simon’s voice sucks here but I wanna here this song live again and I love his voice here. Also I really love this version of the song and John is my favourite member
Wow. I remember those photos from those teen mags I had as a kid. I'm 47 now. Nice live version and great SATRT song. Wish they would do this one live now. Nice upload. :)
This would be a hard song to sing. It's one of the craziest sounding songs on Seven and the Ragged Tiger. Seven may be an even stranger album than Big Thing. Is it just me or does this guy have no bad points?
@xmysteryz I dunno. I love DDuran as a whole. I love Nicks always atmospheric synths, and JTs basslines around this time reminded me a lot of Geddy Lee from Rush. All over the place and playing with Roger Taylors china slaps and roto toms. I mean thry all had something to contribute to the sound of DDuran in equal parts. Their success overshadowed the musicianship.
This sounds very _raw - _whoever ran the board was lost or high because, it's a bit uneven. Saw Duran Duran live last year - they played Crime & Passion and it 100% improved a true home run.
***** im not sure....I found it on a torrent trader site (you have to maintain a share ratio). It's been remastered by some guy, plays at correct speed and pitch, and DESTROYS arena. Do a search for the traders den. It's on there.
