Durand Jones & The Indications - “Cruisin’ to the Park” out now on Dead Oceans / Colemine Records Buy/stream: ffm.to/cruisin... Directed, produced, shot, and edited by Jude Gonzalez / Film Junkies Productions @filmjunkiesproductions
Congrats! If you're here, you've reached the highest level of taste in music... To chicanos This music is more tha a jam it's a lifestyle that hits you deep down.
This feels like the real LA. I hate how people come here and think it’s all hipsters and Hollywood, when they don’t know THIS side of LA, the people that really grew up there and mixed the culture of all the people struggling to get through and bless their future generations
My dad, a 3rd generation Japanese American who grew up around East LA, raised me on good soul and Chicano oldies and I've been increasingly appreciating those classics the past few years. Malo- Suavecito, Rosie and the Originals- Angel Baby, etc. Now I'm now getting to share with him all this amazing neo-soul and chicano oldie style contemporary music, full circle. Feels good :)
This is soo cool!!! Thank you for the artwork ‘ ItsStephJM ‘ ! CBB Update: Now that you guys got a look at the new animation style you can see what’s in store for future episodes but they are going to have more crazy cartoon moments . (Things you’d seen in old cartoons like “Animaniacs”, “Looney Toons”, etc.) There are 2 separate cartoon episodes being worked on right now , but I will probably share a few screenshots of these episodes in the next few days. Hopefully next episode will be finished by next month! I will keep you guys posted! Much love and respect to you all and please be safe! 🤓🙏🏾❤️
This is the most heartwarming and relatable comment. I would think things very similar if I lost my pitbull... it’s the little things. Carry on man ! & im sure Tank is thinkin about going out and and hearing this damn song right now up in heaven 🌅
You can't go wrong with anyone of their songs. I love when you can listen to a cd from beginning to end without skipping a song. This group is amazing.

I’ve never owned an old school, nor do I come from the culture but this song/video just made me wipe a lil tear of happiness out of my eye. You guys are the truth! The only modern day group (that I know of) that hold onto that super dope 60’s era Motown sound. Love you guys!
Listening from south korea. I felt goosbumps Every time i first listened to all of your songs. Even only listening to very beginning of melody makes me feel ecstatic. Hey everywhere in this world there are people who can appreciate being smooth, cool and low. Kick that Homie style in S. Korea and be inspired and share the culture... might make a new scene where your at. Peace bro.
This is the best iconic music for all Chicana's & Chicano's to listen to while cruising...Love the oldies. So many memories of lowriding with friend's. Such an awesome era..❤️🎶💯

I am in my early 50s, 52, I remember crusing on Whittier Blvd in 1977 and seeing WAR hang out Low Rider style on the blvd. I never heard this song as a kid, This song takes me to that time, The song writer captured the true vibes. Wow Amazing.
Lyrics Let's go cruisin' to the park Cruisin' after dark Let's go out Slow it down to five On an endless drive Let's go out Baby, let's cruise together It's you next to me Maybe we'll cruise forever In pure ecstasy Someday you will go To streets we don't know For now, we'll just glide Enjoy the ride So let's go cruisin' to the park Cruisin' after dark Let's go out, baby Slow it down to five On an endless drive Let's go out Slow it down, where's the hurry? Float through these streets Bring the Sun, leave the worry Sail upon the breeze Someday you will go To streets we don't know But for now, we'll just glide Enjoy the ride So let's go cruisin' to the park (Yeah) Cruisin' after dark Let's go out (Oh, baby) Slow it down to five (Oh) On an endless drive Let's go out
What a dope video. The sound of this group along with this video just transported my mind to a heavenly place for a few moments. Thank you for blessing us with your music.
You have no idea how this caught me. God bless youtube or I may have never come across this.....to me the FIRST sign I've heard of old school vibe in new world artists!! Thank you!!
I really can’t believe this song was made in 2019! I heard this and immediately thought it was made in the 80s or 90s, it has has such a clean and vintage sound. Picture yourself in a coupe deville with your babe, just cruising around the city while this is playing. 🥺✨
Just for the record, this genre of music started in America cities like Cleveland, Detroit, NYC, Philadelphia and Atlanta...not Los Angeles. Shouts out to Mexican Americans for falling in love with black cultural music.
Im feelin dah way SCali rocks they world. I’m from East Side SJ and don’t claim any # any color just know I feel the SCali Vibe…much luv La Raza, East, South, North & West…

I'm barely getting into this kinda music. I was dating a guy who is super into it. And now I can't stop listening. There's gonna be an event in August in LA that's about these old school jams
I'm here because a famous French Chanel model played this song on her turn table this morning. Damn! Where has this band been my whole life? Magic just happened! 😜💋💋

No better feeling then getting goosebumps when you listen to a smooth amazing song like this one and it’s rare for that to happen to me takes a lot of soul to feel that but Durand Jones and The Indications are by far killing every aspect of the music world with a beautiful old school feel I LOVE YALL MAY YALL MAKE BEAUTIFUL MUSIC LIKE THIS FOR YEARS TO COME
I worked with Art Laboe as a music assistant and answering requests at KRLA in the '70s. We called this genre "Base Records". I will forever love this Chicano sound. It is the LA I love. Base music is the best!
Being born and raised in the US from generations back to the S Trade, I was brought up on the soul foundation. I thought it was fading. It’s so refreshing to see its thriving and surviving and even coming back! Bring back real soul music! Thank you for this!
