Bro just get rid of the Durango, why buy it in the first place

If you need to jump it, use the fuse box under the hood. There’s a ground tab on the fender well. And there’s a positive tab on the fuse box under the red cap

The reason I believe the Durango RT has so much space between the fender and the tires is because this bad boy can haul over 7000 pounds .

Some of these are definitely what I'd call nitpicks and very subjective criticisms. Where I live, I don't want less ground clearance by lowering my vehicle , for example. Additionally, the vast majority of consumers are not going to be lowering their Durango so why would/should Dodge cater to that niche aftermarket mod? It makes no business sense. If you are concerned about weight and gas mileage, you didn't do your homework before purchase. It's a Durango, which have always been heavy, and you bought one with a thirsty V8, which Durango's have always been guilty of as well (my '98 got around 15 MPG combined, if I was lucky). And yep, if you put more stuff and people in it, it gets heavier- A problem with a 40 MPG Prius as well. Overall It seems like you are complaining that the apple you bought doesn't taste like an orange. The tip on the rear lights is great- nice work.

I love my durango and consider these issues not bad when you look at what other models and brands have in terms of issues

I'd say number 7 is the only legit thing on this list. The rest is just your opinion. I personally don't like interior LED lights. Front LED turn signals were waiting for the front end redesign that came in 2021.I don't like an RT badge up front because I'n not trying to impress anyone but myself with my car and I already know it's an RT. There are jump terminals under the hood so the only time you need to access the battery is to change it, and the thing is heavy because it's a friggin' truck with a 5.7 V8 designed to tow heavy things....which is also why there is a bit of space between the tires and wheel well. Put 2300lbs on the tongue without some clearance and the tires would rub the wheel wells.

Picky, picky, picky. Water intrusion is the only significant point.

You shouldn’t be jump starting under the seat, I have an RT and there is a box under the hood that you are supposed to jumpstart with; it’s in the owners manual, it sit so high because it’s rated to tow upwards of 7500 pounds, I changed the lights to LEDs…simple fix. We love our truck…no complaints here…good on you for your opinions and direct user experience. Be safe..Be Blessed.

Pop the hood and you’ll see the terminals to jump start another vehicle or if you need a jump yourself. You don’t jump it from under the front passenger seat

You can jump start it from under the hood. It's a grounding post and a flap for the positive cable.

The battery placement under the seat improves left-right and front-rear weight distribution, lowers the center of gravity, frees up room under the hood, and reduces stress on the battery that it would have experienced with underhood temperatures. It takes minutes to replace, and you won't have to install it yourself anyway. Jumper terminals are available under the hood. The only issue that seemed worth mentioning was the tail light, although I'd wager the issue has been resolved by now.

I’m on my 3rd Durango (2015, 2018, 2022). I love them. I don’t agree with anything in this video. FCA, please don’t change a thing! Unless it’s better MPG of course! 😉

Dodge makes an SUV that is very nice. I have had my R/T for 7 years with little problem. (The Battery has jumper pins under the hood you need to look or read the manual ) I like the Battery under the seat I changed mine out after 6 years of use in 20 min, it was easy. I still like mine and it was a reasonable price compared to most of the same size trucks with the same comforts back in 2016 and I plan on keeping mine as new cars prices are nuts. PS the R/T badge and Durango name came off mine the first time I waxed it I prefer a cleaner looking sleeper look, no one needs to know it has a 5.7 Hemi.

I think the Durango is most mean looking SUV on the market. Even the V6 models look just like hemi

We have a '22 Durango RT+ AWD and it still came with the same basic Dodge grille. Otherwise I still love the Durango and the 5.7 liter platform (super easy to rebuild)

Damn you're spoiled! I would LOVE to have that Durango just like it is but I can't afford it yet. Be grateful for what you have.

Biggest disappointment is Durango still doesn't have a Panoramic Sunroof and 22 inches Rims.

I know I’m probably 2 yrs too late but there should be a positive and negative post under the hood on the left between the fuse box and the front windshield to jump start it. So you really only have to go under the seat to disconnect the battery.

My 2021 Durango R/T Tow N Go has jumping posts in the engine compartment. It's on the left side. Not sure if yours is the same or not. I bet you it is. Personally, I would have tried to use some weatherstripping to seal the taillights. Like that foam weatherstripping for homes. Are you going to be able to easily remove the taillight assembly after using silicone? Edit - I see you have another video that address the jumping posts.

All cars have issues …. But I have way more pros than cons though with my Durango…. For the price will are still getting a lot of bang for our money! Yours looks good though bro…. I love the upgrades. . . And you can still jump your car from under the hood…. The have two post for that

About the battery location. 1)Does it not have the jump terminals under the hood? and 2) Be thankful it's not like my Challenger, in the trunk with no mechanical open from the exterior. So, if the battery goes bad, you have to crawl through the back seat into the trunk to open it.

The battery under the passenger seat is a good thing. It keeps it out of the engine and exposed to heat and all the weather conditions. My grand Cherokee has it the same way and is 10 years old and still on the original battery. And there’s posts to hood to jump start it

The battery being inside the car keeps it out of the elements good for hot and cold weather... there are jumper points under the hood on the left side of the engine bay just a heads up also

Sorry but the battery location is ideal, it is out of the elements and lasts a lot longer. Also you can jump your vehicle from under the hood. No need to go under the seat

Everything that sucks about his dodge is a preference thing to him or what i would like to call 'rich people problems'. Also if you are using 3row suv for its intended purpose(family hauler) it would not be wise to lower it like that, or if you are going to lower it you better spend the money on the hydraulic lowering kit so you can raise it up when its all packed up for those road trips.

I've got a Mercedes gl550 and battery in the same location and it's actually not bad to access and remove. Also to jump start u have battery posts under the hood for jump starting.

Wait til you have to replace one of those front lights, I was quoted $1800 in Canada because the LED strip burnt out. Tailgate portion of racetrack light also collects water, a few burnt out LED's make it look pretty lousy. Again somewhere in the $1500 range to replace. You can take out two screws at the bottom of these lights and any water will drain out saving the diodes.

I use my Durango for towing so I don’t mind the ride height at all, the only thing I dislike on mine is the driver side headlight is full of water so the led doesn’t work anymore and my racetrack led is also burnt out. Warranty will not cover any of it 😢

3:58 Point of correction bro, there are two terminals for jump-starting at the right side in the hood. You need all that hustle to jump-start.

You are incorrect in saying that in order to jump you need to connect jumper cables under the passenger seat. While the battery is located there, Dodge placed positive and negative terminals for jumping in the engine compartment.

Bro if your battery isn’t constantly dying. The transmission isn’t a known model issue. The engine doesn’t stall and lag. The electrical system doesn’t drain to unknown places. The sensors don’t give off wonky check engine light issue. The rack n pinion isn’t an issue. The water pump is fine. Bro you have no issues. Everything you’re complaining about are aesthetics minus the battery placement and unlikely water leak…

Sorry, but if this is all your nitpicks on the Durango, I don’t even see the point in the video. These are all things you should/would know going into a purchase and/or minor gripes.

Yes the battery location sucks. I've personally changed one in my wife's 2013 Durango R/T so you can see Dodge never learned their lesson in all those years. As far as jumping it there's a positive and negative post in the engine bay for those purposes so not a very valid complaint. The weight is God awful but let's not jump over the main culprit why all Dodge Durango's suck and that's the gutless gas guzzling Hemi. Dodge would make you believe this thing was a world beater but it only beats up your gas budget and will lose to almost everything on the road currently. With 0-60 times at a manufacturer claimed 6.2sec you'd be lucky to do better than 7sec EVER!!! I'd say 7.5-8sec is what most ppl will experience in everyday conditions and get ready for 11-12mpg. And to think we traded an 07 Trailblazer SS in cuz we needed more room. I've missed it every day since. For a family SUV fine, as a performance SUV no way. And I'll give you the water in the "race track" lighting complaint cuz ppl will need to clearly see the turd they are no doubt lapping constantly.

What kind of camber bolts did u use to alignment the rear... I lowered mine but the original bolts won't push the wheel out more.. they told me I needed to use bigger washers on the bolt

Ive heard of cars that have batteries located in the trunk still having electrical posts for jumping in the engine compartment still. Not sure if perhaps the Durango has them hidden somewhere in there or not? Either way with how cheaply built car batteries are nowadays and how they wear out fast in cold climates thats a real pain in the butt repair if the seat doesn't already have a quick release to access the battery.

I’m not sure if anyone has said this, but you don’t need to go under the seat to jump start the car. It can be jumped from under the hood, there’s a connection point closes to the rear on passenger side. You only go under the seat to replace the battery.

Looks better debadged anyway. R/T in grill looks better than dodge but looks cleaner without any badges. IMO

I need the AWD one and dont want it lowered my friend has a lift on his just a little one it was only a couple inches with 33" tires that poked out about 3/4 on stock wheels it was sick

The jump terminal is under the hood! Never jump it off the battery under the seat.

The battery being under the passenger seat protects and saves the battery. The battery will last longer bc the motor produces so much heat, and heat kills the battery overtime, the battery is out of the elements under the seat. AND you can still jump your Durango under the hood. What are you talking about having to jump it under the seat?

Rather than Lowering vehicle you can go with bigger wheels.. Lowering the vehicle will change the driving dynamics. Choice is always yours to trade in drive characteristics for looks. Lights are a easy fix... plenty on the market can be used as a upgrade...

I also own a dodge Durango 2012 Some of the things that he mentioned I agree with battery location dim lighting overall it is a great vehicle you have a 6-7 passenger SUV that sounds great runs good And it is fun to drive those things are minor things but overall I know that it is a great vehicle

As far as the water getting into the taillights and things of that nature and the interior lighting, you should attempt to get in touch with the plant manager at the Jefferson North plant so that he can let the engineering department know about these issues.. go straight to the source where they're built.

Lift up your hood you can jump it from there it has a positive post and a negative tab, negative is supposed to go on just ground anyways not the actual battery post

none of these "issues" were things you wouldn't have known about when purchasing, aside from the tail light.

Mine has two jump terminals under the hood on passengers side so you don't have to get all the way to the battery

you do not need to jump start the car from the battery under the FRONT Passenger seat [access through the front of the seat not rear as in this video] just like EVERY other car that has a rear battery there is a negative and positive lug under the hood on the passenger side for testing and jumping.

My Durango is a 2020 and it is blacked out it’s lifted with led signals in front and back and on the mirrors also my lights inside is white not yellow and my head lights is bright white same as my 2018 suburban

I just can’t get myself to spend $50k for a vehicle.

Imo, the battery location is kind of dumb (like the battery in the driverside front fender on my '05 sebring) and the water intrusion will become an issue at some point. Everything else seems kind of petty in all honesty. I only really have 3 dislikes about my '04 durango 5.7l v8; gas mileage (maybe 14 mpg mixed on a good day), 16 fricking spark plugs, and the suspension/steering on my particular vehicle hasnt aged well. Other than that, i love everything else about her, and shes been paid in full, so no point in getting rid of her (193k miles and counting). :)

To you dont meed to jump start your car from the battery they pre-determined that by adding black and red/+- under hood to make it easier for you to jump start.

I getting water in my tail light. Taking it to the dealership while it's under warranty. Going to ask them about sealing the new light. Wasn't aware it was a "thang". Also going to lower it AFTER the warranty is up. Because lowering could affect the warranty should something happen and they try to say that lowering caused the ussue

Your wrong on the jump start the battery. Under the hood next to the fuse box are a set of terminals to do a jump start, there will be a battery and jumper cable icon molded to the plastic
