The following video was filmed in 8mm cine by my father at the Durban High School Centenary celebrations in 1966. You will be seeing it without editing. The rugby clips at the beginning are, to my recollection, Blackmores in white jerseys versus the rest of the school. Perhaps you were there and recall these events. At the very least you will remember the old boarding establishment, the bell, and the war memorial. You may see some of your friends. Both my late brothers feature and I also recognise Mick Goss and Rob and Les Wilson. Catch a glimpse of Ralph standing on the opposite side of the field during the rugby match against Maritzburg College. See Mr. Lucas striding along while Isaak van Heerden sits on a chair in the front row. Unfortunately the blue colour in the street lights along West Street and the beach front are no longer visible; probably the dye in the film has degraded. This is Part 1 which is the Centenary celebrations. Part 2 features the inter-house athletics and will be posted once I have the film converted to digital.
