This video is a recording of a live virtual lecture given by Cllr John Clare as part of the two-day Northern Energy Transition Conference in April 2021, jointly held by the Durham Energy Institute (Durham University) and the North of England Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers (NEIMME).

In this lecture John outlines the thinking behind Durham County Council's climate change plan, and the latest developments taking place within the county.
Speaker Biography: Cllr John Clare, Durham County Council
Cllr John D Clare (MA Oxon) is currently Durham County Council Cabinet Support for Economy and Regeneration with oversight of the Council’s Low Carbon, Climate Change and Renewable Energy strategies and Durham County Council’s Climate Change Champion. Named ‘Aycliffe Ambassador’ in the 2017 Aycliffe Business Park ‘Make Your Mark’ awards, he was a teacher for 36 years, a prolific children’s non-fiction author, and also served as Chair of Environment on Great Aycliffe Town Council.
