Awesome! The lines will definitely help with panel deflection in strong wind, it’s the only really vulnerable part of the tent due to the large side. I went with the Lawson as it virtually matches the original lines and looks factory. 👍🏻
That's a great tent and good review. I'm just impatiently waiting for the tents to be available again in September, I hope O manage to get one before they sell out again.
I ordered the 1 person and 2 person to try both, as like you I like the extra room of a 2p, but thought the 1p in this tent may be big enough amd save some weight. My dont arrive until 28th, so still waiting, Look forward to your review. Have a good trip
Cheap to buy $240 but time it ends up in UK add another £80 probably. It absolutely pisses on my tiny little no room Terra Nova Laser Pulse 1 which is over £500 ..no one told me in reviews that it absorbs water like a sponge and takes ages to dry out so every day I was carring another half kilo in weight.The Durston does NOT absorb water ! why don t they all make them like that
@@xjessukx I opted for the more expensive, but faster FedEx Expedited shipping which includes all import costs. I think that was around $140 if I remember correctly.
Good stuff and an interesting tent, but not sure I fancy trying one myself but hope you get on great with it. Note that the magnet clips looks like an idea taken from Tarptent that they have used it for years on tents such as the Notch Li. Be aware that depending on strength of magnet and where the tent is packed it can affect your compass if you use one as I found after testing with my old Notch tent with that tieback setup.
Yeah it’s very similar to TT system, just stronger magnets. I’ve looked a TT shelters loads over the years but I’ve never been sold on the pitchloc end design. At the price point, I don’t think anything currently in the market comes close, looking forward to using. 👍🏻
My xmid 2 with solid inner has been kicking about Chicago for a few days. Waiting for it to wing its way across the Atlantic to Ireland. Hopefully I will have it for a trip in the next 3 weeks. I prefer the colour on the vz and the wait for the solid inner was worth it. By wait, I mean the 3 attempts I made to get an x-mid. Was so happy last month to get one. Now just to follow the tracking and pay customs.
@@johnfenwick6946 Mine arrived in Dublin 9 days ago and was delivered on Wednesday. I had to wait until they sent me out my customs fees notification. So I could pay it. That was delayed by a bank holiday. Once it was delivered Kaviso and USPS sent me a delivery notification. Customs should have been in touch as you will be liable for Vat.

@@itsmescottp compared to the zpacks plex solo material, how does this material do at drying out quickly after a soaking rain? shake and go? or does it retain the water and dry more slowly?
