This is one of those indie titles that managed to recapture what I loved about Iga's Castlevania titles, and Muramasa: The Demon Blade, well before the new wave of Souls-like indies. I was surprised to see you playing along to a track from the ost, but not unpleasantly surprised. Great work!
Muramasa had the benefit of George Kamitani at it's helms amd good lord is it an eye catcher. The music for area themes are made in a way that there are two separate versions of the same song going on at once, and once you hit and encounter, it seamlessly transitions to the combat version of the music. And don't get me started on the food in Vanillaware games.
Yeah I bought this game like 3 times so I could keep playing it elsewhere, my first 24 hour charity stream was me 100% it on the PS4 in one sitting. The Glade and Abadis Forrest were great songs to start the game, but for whatever reason Cirromon Caverns became my favorite. Maybe because it's much more subdued and then builds up into something SO lovely by the end. But yeah, count me as someone who hopes that eventually Dean can continue and possibly make a second game. And you can't tell me Dust didn't set the inspiration for games like the Ori series, which are another phenominal pair of indie games.
Dust is honestly one of my favourite games out there. I love that game so much. Would highly recommend. It's a shame it's not as well known as other indie games.
Thank God people recognize this game. It had such a special place in my heart. The game was made by a single man over 4 years who did everything save for the music and voice acting, and it came out better than most triple AAA games released today. Beautiful game 10/10 and I'm glad it has gotten some form of recognition in 2020 6 years later!!!
I actually played this whole soundtrack a long time ago on stream. About 3-4 years ago. I wanted to get a newer playthrough of it. I have been playing along with this track for years XD
I remember buying the game in a whim once and me and my sister were hooked all day! We didn't move away from the tv until we had finished the game. Amazing visuals, nostalgic and brilliant gameplay, interesting story and as you can hear - gorgeous music! I highly recommend it, we got it for only £10 at the time.
Dude, I just gotta say, I have seen you jam out on the drums al lot. But this, this is probably the most I have ever seen you jam out to a song. Every beet was so on point, the energy, the improvisations, Just, good work 8bit.
Oh that's from the second level! That game was actually fantastic, God bless that Summer 2013 sale on Xbox Live. Anyone remember that? It had Dust, Trials and a couple others. There was also this HUGE section for Borderlands 2, had the Wub Wub trailer by Nero? Simple times.
No way!! People still remember Dust: An Elysian Tail Im still playing this game for 2 reasons. 1- I really like this game 2- I am beating a personal challenge
Oh my gosh. This brought back so many memories of this game. I honestly forgot the game even existed, but looking back I can remember watching a playthrough of it in youtube, and loving every second of it. It was such a beautiful and kinda sad game
This game really is way too fun, and it has a secret door i still haven't found out how to open. Homing tornado slash is my favorite, perfect for speedruns, parkour, and wobbly gravity.
completed it on Switch, btw. even have it on 360 where it first was released... and also Steam. quite obvious why i have multiple versions of it: its been one of my favorite games of the last decade.
God, Dust is such a good freaking game. First time I watched a let's play of it, I was completely blown away at how good it looked, sounded and how fun it looked too play. Only a few games like Ori or Hollow Knight have given me that same feeling, and yet is not quite the same! Arrgh! So good!
It has that immersive rouge like feel to it. That’s what those games are and any well made rougelike is gunna have that feeling, dust is a little more hack and slash but just take a look at the similarity’s between them.
Can't we all agree that Dust Is such a good game but the fact that music brings it to life is even more amazing, I legit forgot it existed until now :v
A channel of thousands stands before us, and they've [probably] never heard this song. Jerod: Well...let's not keep them waiting. (Seriously. This song and game is awesome! Near 117% completed it twice!)
Ah good memories when I still had a laptop and maxing out the characters and getting all the chibi secret characters that go to the mansion having a party And my favourite: beating up the final boss with max stats I wish this game would get a sequel with because I want to cry all over again
I wrote a fanfic for this game in HS for an assignment. I look at the world map to plot out the adventure and the teacher comes over. She asks me what I’m doing and I tell her its the map of my fanfic. She says its very small and I said challenge accepted. I go on to get 100 on it.
