Guy u do a very nice job of explaining what’s going on along with a super job of editing. On e of the best on you tube. Nick Perry does well also. I’m fortunate to have a stand alone shop. Is this a hobby for you or your full time job? I like your content 😎😎👍

Thanks so much Lou! I do this full time. Both on the content side and also building for commissions.

Your circle-making with the incra ruler is a great bit I picked up from this video! I'm always fighting the compass to make circles, so I'll definitely be using this trick! Thanks, Guy!

Wait, what happened to the dust collector system from part 2? The one with the nice quick disconnect?
@GuysShop

That DC has been replaced by the Oneida shown in the video.

I bet you will really enjoy having the new setup and not having to move them around as much. Nice work!

Thanks buddy! Yeah, I am really loving this setup. Not perfect, however it is a lot easier to work with.

I'm thinking of doing something similar with my cyclone. Are you still happy with this? Would you have done anything different now that you've lived with it for several months? Thanks.

Guy how has this held up? I just ordered a 1.5 hp DC coming tomorrow and want to grab some of the rockler items during the sale. Like you I share my garage but with three kids and all their toys. I use one tool at a time and it a all mobile. This seems like a good option as I cannot hard pipe anything. Have these tubes worked out for you?
@GuysShop
@GuysShop 4 года назад
It has been a fantastic system for me. Now instead of moving a hose around, all I have to do is open a gate.

Nice alternative just to bad you can’t have a dedicated shop to work in. I could not imagine having to go back to moving everything on a daily basis.

Thanks! It really only takes me 5 minutes to set up or break down. I am so used to the process now, I don't even thing about it.

You mentioned the loss due to the shape of the box. My thought would have been to use three Wye connectors in a double two-into-one. That would have cut way down on the turbulence.......I think. Is there any way you can (or would) modify the flow design to cut the loss? Good solution for a small shop, I do like it.

Thanks. I have thought of about a hundred ways to do this. The biggest issue I had with most of them is the amount of stuff hanging off the front of the collector, and I didn't want to have a 3 way wye on the front due to the hoses going in three different directions. I am fine with the 670cfm. I have seen guys with 5 hp cyclones that are only getting 500 or less at the machine due to the piping and bends in them.

I'm all for it if it makes your shop life easier. Great solution, Guy! My dust collection consists of a couple of shop vacs and a Rockler Dust Separator.

Yeah, moving that hose around was kinda driving me nuts, and has been for years. Hopefully this will solve that problem.

When you assembled the manifold, I think you could have added one more clamp :)

Hey Guy, On your table saw are those wheels like an anti-kickback device?
@GuysShop

Hey Vinnie, yes they act as a featherboard both vertically and horizontally. They are Clear Cut TS guides from Jessem.

That is a great way to build a compact manifold. How do you measure the airflow (or pressure drop) in your system. I am thinking about putting permanent ducting in my shop but I would like to be able to check how efficient my ducting is.
@GuysShop
@GuysShop 6 лет назад
Thanks! I bought a pretty cheap anemometer from amazon. Not 100% sure of it's accuracy, but it gives me a baseline to work off of.
@bobt2522
@bobt2522 6 лет назад
I think I was worrying so much about making accurate measurements that I haven't done anything. "Paralysis by analysis" I need to aim for consistent measurements that I can compare.
@MelbourneAlan

nice job. i think you would get less drop if you used bell mouths on the dust colector inlet and the dc lines coming into the manifold. those sharp corners really screw up air flow.
@GuysShop
@GuysShop 6 лет назад
Thanks. Yeah, I thought about that quite a bit. But after using it for a week or so now, I am finding the system works just as well as it did before, and there is no buildup of chips, dust inside the manifold.
