Yeah, this is NOT how a phase plug should be installed. a phase plug should not be attached to the cone, which would defeat the purpose of the plug. A phase plug is to defeat phasing issues at certain frequencies and to assist in directing higher frequencies outward, these frequencies are not continuous throughout the speaker's travel. The plug should be stationary.
