wtf... that was totally legal. Hip tosses and headlock throws maintain control over the opponent's body during the takedown and his arms aren't positioned past legal limits... you'd think that the refs would actually know the rules *roles eyes* nice throw by the way!
@@trippondiss It depends on the rules-set. In folkstyle, you can lock hands in a pinning headlock position (and some other positions like cradles). I do know that rules might vary from state to state about safely returning an opponent to the mat, and how dangerous a referee thinks a mat return or throw is could be subjective.
years later ... Reverse headlock... it was deemed illegal due to the amount of force. Not a hip toss or conventional headlock. The official has every right to call that illegal.
Too many officials were just little guys in highschool and don't understand or know the rules for the higher weight classes, in all honesty they're totally different kinds of wrestling
Bro this isn't a hip toss this is actually a head lock throw I personally like the hip toss more than a headlock throw cuz I guess it's more flashy and it's very rerewarding I'm also the same with a arm spin still a nice head lock throw though
too bad he did the hip toss wrong and did it more like a lateral throw you can tell when he locks his hands they way he hit the lateral throw was illegal though looking back at this video
