Hey dj! could you do a training video on clinching or something of the sort? When would it be better to stay shelled up but smother (how people do in boxing a lot) vs clinching? I believe you've said you like the clinch and are very confident in it, was this just through many reps and/or are there certain key details that helped you really get a hang of it? Big supporter and thank you so much!
While I maintain that Khaib is my favorite fighter ever (across all combat sports) Demetrious Johnson is probably the most skilled. Beyond just his skill and ability, as s person he just seems to be a wonderful guy.
As crazy as a fighter DJ is, he stands completely zero chance against Brock Lesnar. Just goes to show what kind of a once in a generation athlete we were able to see
Poirier has a whole careers worth of damage inflicted on his body, he has the hips of a 70 year old man, and on top of that hes an entrepreneur that owns a thriving hot sauce business. Meanwhile BSD is young, fresh, dangerous wherever the fight goes, and has a killer instinct like none-other. So on one hand we have the weathered aging veteran whos mentally checked out of the sport VS the equivalent of a modern-day Cro Cop. No shit BSD should be the favorite. EDIT: You people have zero reading comprehension. I said that BSD should be the FAVORITE, not that he was for sure going to win. I wasn't predicting that he would win, just that he had the upper hand.
He lost to oliveira and got knocked down and finished, he was losing to chandler before he gassed out and gave himself to dustin, he got knocked out by gaetche who he won against before. Dustin has regressed, he is 34 and recently got KO:d. He is done sadly
@@viggostjernfeldt7975you going about his losses i can do the same for his wins, he has hof wins, he never lost 2 in a row, and only lost to the best of the best
He was traded because he demanded a million dollars a fight when only bringing in fifteen thousand buys per ppv at a high. So ufc was grateful to part ways with him. People don’t buy his ppvs because they feel he could be beaten up by an average Joe who weights 220 pounds.
@Squiiidkilla You mentioned his ufc days and I wanted to add context to why they shipped him out. Also he lost to Henry so he probably wouldn’t dominate the top tier ufc fighters of today
@@johnnguyen6469 I know why he was traded, and imo he won the cejudo rematch. His only losses were early in his career & his KO in ONE Even at 37 I think he can compete against the top flyweights. Even though he fights at 135(one’s flyweight) he’d even do well at UFC’s bantamweight IMO
Quality interviewer man. It's so valuable to have pillars of the sport taking media into their own hands. Your firsthand experience with good/bad interviews has given you an uncanny ability to pull conversations of substance out of these private individuals. Thanks DJ!
I think the opposite. His leadup to the questions is way too long and then the way the questions are asked allows Dustin to answer with a simple "yes/no".
I love DP. Bro has always been a great fighter. He had grown over the years too as a human being which is even better. He is a great example of consistency, honor, aggression, and pride a fighter should have. Sad he may never get the undisputed belt but he one of the few fighter that don’t need it to be a legend. Let’s get this win on Saturday
SUCH a great episode! Dustin has been my favorite fighter/athlete for nearly 10 years. I'm so happy his career has become one of the most iconic in the sport.
Regardless of what happens this weekend/the rest of his career, Dustin is a legend of MMA & UFC. Incredibly enjoyable interview, definitely appreciate your work DJ! 💪🏽🔥💯
DJ. You have great setups to your questions but then you kinda fumble delivering the actual question and I can see people waiting to answer and then ending up having to restart what they thought they were gonna say. Maybe to help that, you should pre-write the questions and stick to that phrasing. Just a tip to help take this to the next level of professionalism
@@dyyylllaannn agree, needs to talk a lot less and ask open questions. He always ends up his questions in a way that lets Dustin just answer with a "yes / no".
He got caught with a perfect head kick and People cast doubt on the future of his outcome like it's certain. I see it with izzy, volk etc etc. Fighting is so so hard to win let alone a streak in the top tier of the sport.
@@ItsameAlexBSD is not Justin, Justin historically doesn’t throw headkicks that’s why it caught Dustin off guard. BSD most notable knockout is the headkick
Who is answering the questions? This guy is asking and answering at the same time hahaha, wondering what Poirier is thinking... Like dude just shut up ask me the question straight and let me answer so I can get out of here.
Fun fact DP in his UFC debut said he hadn’t weighed 145 since he was in 7th grade. He also beat the number one contender whom was scheduled to fight Jose Aldo on the night Dustin fought him.
I’m a new subscriber. Always been a huge fan of your fights. Been watching your fighter interviews and they’re all fantastic. It’s clear the fighters are more open to engage with you because you’re genuine and you’re not trying to stir drama. MMA Hour better watch out! You’re coming for that belt!
😂 I still remember that pre day weigh in stare down on embedded from 178 where Dustin and Conor got into it a bit and Mighty Mouse back stage :”it’s not worth 50 grand!” 😂😂😂 10 years flew by
Mighty mouse is actually an amazing interviewer. Bro has exponentially done better since leaving the UFC and I'm glad he's finally getting the praises he deserves. GOAT in and out of the cage ❤
the frenchman looks good and his kicks are unreal but the diamond has some of the cleanest boxing and such a crazy chin, how can he be counted out? this 299 card is unreal. thank you to the ufc!

all Dustins fights are bangers has one of the best resumes in the top 5 forsure he might be getting older but he is not to be slept on. Its crazy how many people hate on dude
