Thank you for sharing this. I have binge watched all the videos on this channel today because I might actually be able to do planning like this without feeling overwhelmed.

3 habits (FYI… I love that this is functional, I’m tired of getting caught up in the “you have to buy…”) 1) count my blessings & pray 2) fill in my trackers for prior day 3) check on my online orders (figure out if I’m getting deliveries that day, my USPS sucks, they stuff my things in my small box) I think it is a true testament that this channel only started a few weeks ago & already growing so well, that some of us are just so tired of over spending and want to open our minds to a frugal way of doing things. Especially this day and age where we are all spending so much just in day to day living. One humble subscriber’s opinion. Have a blessed day.

So excited to find this video! I think it's very frugal to use things you already have on hand. Not using something, when you can use them, seems wasteful and after all, frugal doesn't have to mean austere. It just means if you want "color" and the only thing you have available is crayons, use them. I go back and forth in my own planner, some days are just pen and paper and other days I use all the things. Depends on how much time I have, my mood, and what needs to get done. Today is my birthday, so it's all the stickers and colors. LOL

I love this idea of the Dutch door. I am on a weight loss-healthy life style journey. So my one habit is biking daily.

I use up spiral and composition notebooks that my kids only used half of or less. I can’t throw them out when they are still mostly good paper. I cover the front with pretty scrapbook or wrapping paper and pull out the used pages. Saves money $$$! I’ve never tried a Dutch door, I think I will try it😊

Honestly never thought about using a notebook in this way. So many great ideas!

April - 30 days has September, April, June and November. All the rest have 31 (except for February that has to mess up the rhyme.). Love the idea of a spiral notebook for a planner. I’m a diehard Franklin Covey user, but it’s gotten so expensive!

Have you ever done a budget planner? I have always bought budget planner but the layout is not what I want so I always adapt it. You have inspired me to do one. I do a budget based on pay periods. Thanks for the inspiration

I think I'm gonna be trying this for a home planner, it should keep me and my to-dos on track. Also, just letting you know, I have TONS of supplies as well, but I'm trying to limit my purchases to small pages of stickers from Hobby lobby, vs the sticker books I used to buy. Just found you a week ago! Love your channels! I've been planning on composition books for almost 4 years now and I love it especially the crinkle sound! Although I prefer a composition book, I see how a spiral notebook is handy because you can fold it. I love your ideas and layouts! Question: Since the spiral notebooks get beat up have you found a cover that works for it?

I really love this layout! I think Dutch doors are fantastic! In my opinion if you have the supplies on hand it is frugal to use them. They are not necessary for planning, but sure it sure helps spice up your daily “to do’s” with a little eye candy! Have a blessed weekend April! This really is a great layout!❤️

Hi April!!🤗😁 I do love this layout! I’ve really been enjoying your Dutch door setup! I absolutely agree that using the supplies you already have is frugal and bonus frugal points if you find multiple uses for an item (like how washi tape is decorative and you can make tabs with it)! I feel like I’ve been more intentional in using my stash this year and as an interesting side effect, because I’m in it all the time, seeing things and going through it I haven’t been wanting as much new stuff because I’m like oh, I just saw a sticker just like that new sticker in my stuff or my washi looks like that shiny new roll and I still have a ton left, I’ll just use mine! Makes things a bit more fun lol I’m kindof funny, I either pick up the habit and do it from day one (basically, maybe day two) or I can work all year and never pick up the habit😅😂 I’m not sure why🤷🏽‍♀️ I’ve had times where I’m like mentally prepping, this is going to take work, don’t get discouraged if it takes a while etc and a week in it’s like I’ve been doing it forever and then sometimes I’m like I can do this plan it out establish habit and a whole year later I still feel like a mess and haven’t formed the habit! I don’t know lol I loved this video and this layout, so functional and still so fun! I’ve actually been using my planner differently lately so we’ll have to see how this week turns out! I have been enjoying that to do list I learned from you where it’s the task on the right and a header on the left with the days of the week👍🏽👍🏽 Definitely coming in handy for me lately! omg i love this and I love your channel! I'm based in the UK, and I have always found it really difficult a) to find the planner that I am wanting or needing, and b) find anything in the uk (I use disc bound/happy planner layouts). I have in the last 2 or 3 years, either bought cheap planners that are ready made and customised them or bought plain white paper, or paper refills from amazon and made my own!! I now make my own covers, inserts, dividers and laminated reusable pages! I want to get more up on my RU-vid channel now that I have found planner peace :)

Great spread - but did you cut the pages? Could you trim a bit and fold in half and glue and that way you’ll deal with the ghosting/shadowing of the other side of the page. 😘

I prefer the dot grid composition books, but they are $2-2.25. I started in graph comp books after a spiral notebook like in the video. It was about 25 cents back then. Composition lined books are 50 cents at Walmart for back to school time, so it's super cheap to get a couple. The zebra sarasa porous pens (with the caps) are really good and work really well with highlighters. The pen + gear highlighters I got are very similar to the mildliners. To try happy planners, I waited for clearance planners and picked them up for a few dollars a piece and just redated them while I worked out how to print my own pages double sided and all. Now I print my own covers and all, just grab more rings when they are on sale if I am running low. I actually carry a 1/2 letter notebook I made so I have something to write in should I need it. I print a lot of base pages (dot grid for notebooks, note pages from planner layout to draw in certain layouts by hand) and a standard set of planning pages because even with ADHD, I need my layout to stay the same so I can always know where to look for each type of info. And to be completely transparent, my layout is based on DIY-Fish Life-mapping and Hobonichi cousin pages. I print the basic life-mapping pages. The daily pages I draw out the old Franklin Covey days, but since I started also doing digital for my portable version, those are hobonichi based because I don't want to have to go to a day on 2 pages when I can blend the set up and adjust to keep myself in one book.
