Emanuela Cerutti. i know how you feel. i always had my hair long and it was down my butt. i always wanted a fishtail braid but didnt know how to do it. then i cut my hair to my shoulders, only to find out my friend sister knew how to fishtail.😟. a year and a half later my hair down my back all i can think about is fishtail braids yay.

This is such a pretty hairstyle. I tried doing it myself this morning and it turned out great😊my hair is almost to my hip and is rather curly so its a great way to keep it out of the way.

I really loved this video. This is super clear and well explained. However, I'm not cut out for this. I just spent two hours trying this out and couldn't get any definition u.u I don't know what I'm doing wrong

How was your hair before you started? Depending on your hair texture, will determine the best way to start it. She says it works best on two day old hair for her but if you’re someone whose hair/scalp gets oily after one day with no wash, then you most likely won’t get the same definition if you attempt the braid on day two. Want to make sure it’s either blowdried and/or straightened prior to starting because it will make it easier to work with the pieces.

I love all the different plait styles, I had long hair throughout my youth and got to the stage I could do various pretty braids in no time. Now I’ve got two Grandaughters with lovely long hair which I’d love to braid but my silly old arthritic fingers just won’t let me. Thank you for this tutorial, it may be 8 years old and forgotten about by yourself, but it’s new to us and I’ll be showing it to my Grandaughters as you explain it so much better than I do. 😊

Sonie Irfan I have highlights through it and I have a root tint done in a light brown shade. I have it done by a hairdresser, it's not a box colour.

Ya i don't think I'm gonna be able to do this one for awhile lol i use to be able to braid with 4 pieces of yarn n even 5. So I'm guessing that's almost the same as the bottom half? Obv the top is incorporating a French type with fish tail. My stupid fingers don't work right sometimes bec i have osteogenesis imperfecta brittle bones disease n long skinny double jointed fingers with less muscle than norm n some i have broken before but i will learn this. Thank you!💜

This video didn't say but you need a pretty long hair in order to do this hairstyle. The length of my hair hits a little past my chest and whenever I'm 3/4 way through this hairstyle the side of my hair that is furthest from the braid escapes/falls out because it's too short to get incorporated into the braid. Can't wait to grow my hair longer since this hairstyle is so beautiful✨

I can do the fishtail but the back of my head looks awful. Does it always have to go to the side? Would like to do it down the back as I don't like wearing my hair across the front shoulder. Can anyone do it down the back?

When you did this look with a "regular" braid was it last summer I believe? My daughter hasn't let me do any other thing on her hair but that braid, that is how much she loved it. Do I dear show her this one?? Haha

Amazing and so well explained, but when using extensions but having your own top layers kind of short, this seems so impossible! (especially when pulling the hair from the other side to the braid) Any tips? For a normal fishtail braid (with extensions) I always use an elastic band at the top so everything keeps in place, when done with the braid I just cut the band loose.

Lisa ten Holt If you've got short hair, I would be inclined to do a braid on the side parting still, but also do a smaller version on the other side of your head. Since it's too short to bring around to the other side of your head, you could always braid the other side, and swoop it around the back of your neck to meet the main braid and have one tail. I've done this on people with short hair in the past. Can look very beautiful.

Hello shonagh I already fall in love with your tutorial. I've buy zoeva nude pallette. But the colour dissapointed me because its like not stick even with shadow primer. I feel want to throw. Can you do the tutorial for zoeva nude pallette

pendengarpemerhati I'm afraid I don't have the nudes palette. Try putting NYX Jumbo pencil in 'Milk' over the mobile eyelid first, then apply the eyeshadows over that. It will help them to stick to the lid, and bring the colour of the eyeshadow out.
