living solitairy will test your mental health a lot. It is better to spent a season renting something like leon says.

That is very good I have been here for two years I am English I am black and I live in the south east Very remote in a dying village I love it I’ll be showing this video to a couple of people who have a fanciful idea of doing what I’m doing in Bulgaria you’ve articulated it spot-on. Although you’re not handy with your hands for renovating a house or fighting off animals this video is a 10 out of 10 for me honestly will be showing this to a couple of people Who think I’m over exaggerating

Yes it's a lot tougher than it looks, I don't want to put in all this hardship.

I would not do it!! It will be very lonely. Also needs a lot of money and many other problems arise from it. I'd probably live in the city and rent a airbnb once or twice a month.

We planned a caravan trip to bulgaria from june-august with our family with 2 kids. To discover the country and maybe to buy a plot or a house close to mountains nature.and als close to schools/sports for the children maybe for the future.we have bulgaria friends in NL.that can help us.what part of bulgaria do you recommend us? I think the part around plovdiv.but every option is welcome
@LeondeLeeuw
@LeondeLeeuw Год назад
Around Plovdiv is probably your best bet, I like the village of Hrabrino a lot. There will also be schools nearby. Bratsigovo or Peshtera or Krichim might be interesting too.

Thnx. We like to grow our own vegatables etc.how is the climate and soil in that area.and hopefully clear sky.because we live now verry close to Schiphol airport and i m done with that toxics and noise..

@Lennart Van Zon air quality in the Plovdiv Valley is very bad too. Most towns have poor air, you need to be very remote for clean and crisp air.

@@LeondeLeeuw oké thnx. And what do you think about the area kostenets? Close to borovets. We like to ski.
@LeondeLeeuw
@LeondeLeeuw Год назад
@Lennart Van Zon it's pretty nice, you can find a place on the southern slopes of the Sredna gora and have sun almost the whole day. Don't go live on the northern side of the Rila slopes because you won't have much sun and will be colder.

maybe he means when they start their digital identity, connected to the quackzeens connected to your social credit score where they cut you off from buying and selling because you may not agree with the state at that time? But I would try "offgrid" with a community...
@LeondeLeeuw
@LeondeLeeuw Год назад
In that respect you can go off grid in Australia just as easily, it's a huge country and over the past 2 years, not everywhere was equally harsh. Same goes for the EU.

2014 already?? Next year, you will need to make a special 10 year anniversary video! :D I realised you mentioned Sliven a couple of times. Do you like it? I saw videos and it looks nice, at least the centre. Pleven is also a great choice, less than 3 hours by train from Sofia and "sandwiched" between Sofia and Bucharest, not so small and lively. A university town with not bad public transport. What do you think?
@LeondeLeeuw
@LeondeLeeuw Год назад
Pleven is not that great of a place. Historically very significant, don't get me wrong. It is way hotter in summer and way colder in winter due to the winds over the Danube plains. The city has very poor urban planning and also doesn't have the slight Southern feeling that a city like Sliven has. The people are quite cold and it's just not that much fun. Sliven is shielded by the mountains so has milder winters and also has good soil for growing cherries, apricots and nuts. You're a bit farther away from everything and definitely there will be some villages in the Pleven area that are better than some villages in the Sliven area. But generally I get the impression that villages in the Pleven area are doing really poorly, and feel very very desolate.
