An inexperienced young investigator - just taking office - is interrogating a prostitute who killed his comrade. The girl lies and prevaricates because she doesn’t want to go to jail. The young police officer has a choice then - to refer the case along a legal path, which will probably end in acquittal, or avenge his colleague - break her down and make her confess to murder.
DIRECTOR’S COMMENT: The short film "Duty" is the third picture of domestic production in my career. Zack Snyder's "Snow, Steam, Iron" became the inspiration for it. Rewatching Snyder's work, I was wondering: what would happen next? And, in fact, our entire picture is an attempt to answer this question. I am also absolutely astonished by Snyder's visual style, so I took the liberty of recreating a whole scene from the original in order to try out some camera tricks in practice. As for the script - initially the story was very different from what we had in the end, so not all the ideas embedded in the plot have been completely revealed as intended. Honestly - I did not fully realize that when I was finishing the work. However, everything is changing, and I hope that this experience will serve a good lesson for me (and others). I thank the crew for their diligence, trust and support given, and our viewers for their time and consideration! Thank you!
