DV Lottery Greencard
People may be wondering whether Africa can get another big jump in the next Visa Bulletin (for April interviews), so in this video I explain how to check the progress and whether that is likely to happen or not. I don't normally like to give predictions (because they are more than likely wrong) but I think it will help everyone to look at the data to explain what I can see.
Now for Morocco and Algeria there are "except" numbers in place, but my point is that there is a pattern that applies to other good performing embassies too.

Hello #BritSimon thanks for the regular updates. I am from Liberia and is currently studying in china and won the DV2024 with CN74xxx. Guangzhou is my embassy for interview but I want to know if it’s advisable to change embassy to my country Liberia or another embassy to improve my chances.

Algeria is one of the country exceptions. means they don't have to reach 40k, algeria for example have to reach 35k and they get almost to that (33k). the problem is with embassies like egypt and addis, they are slowing the process

True - I should have mentioned that - but look at the non except countries - Freetown, Monrovia etc - there is a pattern.

Hi Brit Simon, I’m winner of 2024 DV program from SriLanka, I have submitted my DS260 In June 2023 and my case number is AS31xx. But My number has dropped when they sent 2NLs. They have scheduled interviews and sent 2NLs for 32xx numbers too. Will they send me 2NL again? Will I get a chance? Why they have dropped me, what do you think about it.

Hi Brit, In Algeria it's 21 CN per 1k, although the embassy here can schedule 200-300 interviews per month. Can the next vb make the jump or should it stick to the Africa vb?

Another thing we are forgetting to consider is the fact that these good performing embassies could quickly get to their annual quota for the DV and suddenly stop issuing. We may still be at roughly 57 or 60k and you see that they have gone dormant. This is because the actual cases including their derivatives have exhausted the per country quota. The CO or embassy will not make a radio announcement that look we are done......

There is no per country quota. There is a 7% cap, but that needs a very high number of selectees for that country and a very high success rate - and realistically probably only one or two countries could even get close to that.

What about Nairobi? They are doing more DV than CR1/IR1/IR2 visas. Isn't the priority supposed to be those visas ? Before DV?

IR are the priority, but if they don't have a backlog of IR there is little time spent on those cases.
