DW is an amazing company. I have a 5 piece collectors series. The drums feel so good to play. Even this acrylic kit sounds amazing to me and I'm not even into acrylic drums!
@@ARGCDG the ONLY maintenance I've had to do is windex my finger prints off lol. Nothing too major. They stay in tune very well. I live in Alaska so to combat the extreme cold when I travel I use insulated cases because I don't want them cracking.
Nice review showcasing all of the features and sounds of this kit. The cymbal mentions at the end were great too. That china on the right sounds sweet! Sweetwater! lol I've been waiting for this shell pack to come in stock... and still waiting.
Not gonna lie, when I read the title, my first thought was "Oh cripes, they made a kit out of glass? That's no bueno." Glad I was wrong. Great sounding kit!
Awesome video! Nick does a great job showing off all of the drums and all of the aspects of what's going into the current video (the whole setup)! I can't afford a 4th drum kit right now 😅😅😅 But if I could, this one would be one I would SERIOUSLY consider!
DW prices have shot up considerably. I'm glad I bought mine years ago. Their snares have become outrageous as well. It will be interesting to see how sales are in the comming years.
Always amazed by your display of your techniques! Where did you study all these rudiments? And a very good description of the technical aspect of microphones and processing. You never disappoint. Thanks
Are the shells made by DW? I have assumed all the drum companies buy in shells because it’s not worth tooling up for these fairly limited production kits.
I think they do? Because you can order custom acrylics from them, but the shells are definitely made by another’s company. I forget the name? I want to say RCI because they make some pretty bad ass colors and designs!
Are these also prone to hairline cracks? I know Pearl's crystal beats from a few years ago were still having that issue. spiderweb cracks around floor tom mount holes. Since acrylic cannot dent, they just form hairline / spiderweb cracks if being hit, say if you have it in a drumbag but your buddy lay it down sideways on the floor hard.
The Tom microphones alone are $3000. I know they’re promoting the DW kit. I think prices for music retail is insane! I think sales will plummet in the future..
Debatable, they’ve always been the same for a long time. To think they’d drop is not gonna happen, it’s all going to increase in price though, hopefully things do change but music gear has always been super costly, cause it’s creativity, they don’t want you to explore your creative side.
That sound is not "Invisible." Music has really "Turned My Life Around." I'm glad they used a real drummer, instead of a "Snake Oil Salesman." "Mercy," that sounds good. Music is "In My Bones." It's definitely "Not My Time To Say Goodbye" to music.
I welcome you ! And you could not make a video with the tuning on the mechanical Dual tuner ! Or Tama, your tuning sounds great ! well, the game is at the highest level !
I guess what I'm shocked by is the super intense hi cost increase since covid hit. I tried buying 1 19 in Zildjian A custom crash recently. After tax the price was 400 dollars. That crash is not worth more than 250....come on people...
My salesperson at Sweetwater mentioned a few months ago that their would be a increase in price across the board. I ordered a DW snare before the increase.
I've never understood people saying that a drum is "14 by 16". Why would you not say the diameter first? Saying 14 first to me means that I need to by a 14" drumhead.
That is the nature of the drumset. That’s part of the voice of the whole thing. You have to tune and deal with the interaction on the frequencies. In the end the only one noticing will be yourself
