It's funny that you should cover the episode where DW wants to adopt Walter the deer as a pet! Just recently, my dad and I saw Walter's family as we were driving home on a snowy evening!
On April Fools day, you should upload a video called "I Love DW", where you talk about a bad DW episode (Arthur's Big Hit for example), but instead of hating DW, you twist it around and be in her favor; saying good things about her even though she's to blame. Just an idea I had in mind.
Or take one of the episodes where she's a sympathetic character (they do exist) and applaud her outwitting the Tibble Twats and growing up despite having worthless parents
From Arthur's perspective this is one of the best vacations for him. He's seen playing with Kate, his dad and mom without DW interrupting. And she doesn't have her CD to play Crazy bus or Mary moo cow songs. So good for you Arthur!
D.W. would rather take a wild animal home than show love to the one good boi (Pal) they already own, simply because he is primarily Arthur's dog first.
There's also Arthur's dog Pal and his classmate Fern who is a dog as well, and francine's cat Nemo and Sue ellen being a cat and a fellow classmate too, kinda funny lol
I was like wait a minute Elwood city was in Pennsylvania in this series. I know the fictional place Dimmsdale in the state of Washington by Elwood city no way 😂😮
The part with DW forcing everyone to bury the fish always pissed me off. 1. That was their damn dinner. 2. That fish would get eaten sooner or later, that's just nature. Fish aren't even that high on the sentience meter. 3. I went fishing all the time as a kid but barely caught anything. FU DW for ruining a good catch
They should've told her no about that fish instead of letting her get her way. Imagine catching a decent fish only to bury it not because there was something wrong with it but because your spoiled kid somehow made you.🙄
@@ChristopherBingham-xx8xl 1) that shark episode, 2) washington, 3) the one where she gets more fish with her dad then aurthur (and then forced the other camping families to like Mary moocow), 4) and this eoisode with the deer. Edit: i could be wrong but i think theirs the Ocitpus episode too, were she doesnt want to go in the water out of fear.
All my kids have gone fishing several times, and they always name their fish family names like Grandma. But they still eat it, and are completely OK with us gutting and cooking “Grandma“. Because they know it’s a fish. Somebody needed to explain that to DW, and remind her of where all her grocery store food comes from.
I'm guessing you're talking about the one where DW gets shoehorned into the father-son camping trip and ends up catching tons of fish with Mary Moo-Cow music? I think that one actually came later. In fact if I remember correctly, they actually reference the events of this one. When D.W. comes back with a ton of fish Arthur immediately reminds her of how upset she got the first time, but D.W. apparently got over because she was now confident in her fishing skills.
1:20 fucking Mr. Ratburn of course! Also I found it weird that DW thought the spiders weren't special because they 'have them at home' but cried over a wild fish. fish aren't that extraordinary compared to say a deer, since they're found in tanks and especially in dead form in the store
In any other cartoon, D.W. would have smuggled the deer in house and wacky hijinx would ensue. I can't tell if we lost an opportunity or dodged a bullet with that one.
You know this episode also failed to mention that deer may be easily frightened, but they ARE capable of defending themselves and if you god forbid get kicked by one, it can cause massive internal bleeding and blunt force trauma (if kicked to the head) easily killing D.W.
Recently, my dog Hank saw a doe right by our fence. We live in a rural area. Anyway, this doe was curious at Hank because he is brindle colored and maybe she thought it was one of her young. They did touch noses with each other , and eventually, the doe went back in the woods.
Not only did this episode air several years before Cast Away, but there is even a line in Cast Away acknowledging that DW lost her shit at the sight of dead fish. It worked well too because DW's soul purpose in that episode was to ensure that Arthur can't have nice things.
Yup. Except Lisa is normally a good kid. She was just bad that one time, and she did apologize to her dad for that. D.W. is always bad and she never apologizes.
Good thing this isn't the Hisui region (Pokemon Legends Arceus) or otherwise DW Read would be assaulted by wild Pokemon. Also I only slept in a tent once with my older siblings and let me tell you. After that thunderstorm back in 2002, I vowed to NEVER sleep in a tent again.
There is one good thing about D.W.'s existence, without D.W. we wouldn't have content on RU-vid quite like this. Other than that though there is not much else, well unless you're like me and appreciate when a children's educational TV show has a villain in it.
Growing up I always thought that Elwood City was in Upstate New York. I don't know how that idea got in my head especially considering I've never been to New York, but learning that it's in Pennsylvania is like close enough to what I thought growing up.
3:58 I don’t remember crying watching the scene when I was kid myself, but since you mentioned it, I had to go and watch it myself, and yeah, holy crap it is a sad scene. I think what helps is the music and the way they portrayed Walter's situation, and the voice acting too, which was done by D.W.'s own voice actor, Michael Caloz! Funny how he could bring out actual emotions other than irritation in people when he wasn't voicing a manipulative narcissist, huh?
Probably not. They might mistaken her as Shaw’s daughter, niece or first cousin once removed and will most likely torture her as justified vengeance for being a cunt to poor Arthur during the years Arthur itself was on PBS.
1:46 "You live in Pennsylvania! The wildest thing you're likely to see is a fox fighting a raccoon over a half eaten cheesesteak!" True stuff! I live in Pennsylvania as well!
0:49 Nah, PBS has done weirder plugs for their kids shows. In a pilot episode of WordGirl, Becky straight up advertises PBS to Tobey in the middle of an episode, logo and everything, because Tobey was roasting her family over the fact they have a tv in their living room. Also, there was an episode in which the villain of the day steals all of the Emmys WordGirl won in real life and WordGirl herself actually says what categories the prizes were.
That talk about the fox and the raccoon fighting over a cheese stake made me think of a certain fox trying to arrest a certain raccoon. If you guessed Inspector Fox and Sly Cooper, you'd be correct. #SlyCooper #CarmelitaFox #FoxAndRaccoon #FightingOverACheeseStake
When I was DW's age, I had a special bond with a seal I met at the beach. Unlike DW with Walter, the seal actually wanted to get close to me when we first saw each other. Plus, we both knew the whole time he couldn't come home with me because he would miss his family too much.
Honestly, complaining about cartoon characters from like almost 30 years ago is pretty funny in retrospect and like during high school probably didn’t think that was a career path, but I’ve been entertained watching all these videos.
As Arthur said in castaways last time they went camping DW freaked out when they caught just one fish and her reply was that it was before she discovered her gift just goes to show she didn't care about the fish being dead just an excuse to waste something Arthur was excited about catching with his dad that she manipulated her parents into that whole funeral thing.
The highlight of this episode for me was seeing those characters in different clothes. Yeah it’s a minute detail but it’s always nice to see animated characters in different outfits then their usual ones. Mainly cause you associate a character looking a certain way so seeing them in something else is interesting to me
I remember asking my mom how come George gets to be a deer citizen, but Walter doesn’t. She couldn’t answer me. It’s the same issue Peppa pig has, god forbidding characters from either show go to the zoo and bringing you more questions than you want answered. Wanna know why the concept of Bluey doesn’t raise the same questions? Because it sticks to ONE ANIMAL AS A PEOPLE STAND-IN.
For some reason, this was one of those episodes that I'd see the last 10 minutes of it, then it wouldn't air again for month/years. Meanwhile Arthur's Big Hit reran over & over
Personally there's one particular episode I really like you do. The special episode DW and the beastly birthday it's basically this sort of time skip au episode in which not only does the dw get a chance to go to this imaginary vacation beach Arthur ends up dreaming about in reality in which DW is the oldest. It's really interesting you should check it out
