Dwarf Chain Loaches

I quick look at my Dwarf Chain Loaches. I added eight to the existing school about a week before this video. Interestingly enough, the eight new loaches are part of the same original school as many of my existing fish. I had gotten most of them a few years ago from a fellow SFBAAPS member when he brought in a large quantity of them as a group buy. He recently traded the rest of them to me.

Your synodontis petricola (assuming that's what it is) is a beauty. Was at the fish shop today looking at the lone chain loach (presumably a customer return) and the catfish. Mine went belly up for no apparent reason a few months ago. Desperately want to replace him, but they are £25 at the local shop and that's 5x what I paid for my last one. Are chain loaches expensive? Our Yoyos cost about £7 each, yet the chain loach was about £18 for one. Seemed a lot. Guy looked like he had character, though. For a fish.

+dreamoflesbianham They are usually expensive, but I've heard stories of people finding them mislabled and getting them for under $4 a piece

I found some for £5 each, and they are brilliant. They are constantly active, and get on well with my pygmy cories. Unfortunately no room in the bigger tanks so I only have 3. Weeks later they are still in stock and I'm so tempted to buy the rest. Alas, i found out the hard way that nature makes sure you don't keep too many fish in a tank. Would recommend chain loaches to any fish keeper. They don't even bother my rocket panchax (currently about 1cm each).

I have 7 yoyo loaches, and man they're fun. I've been looking for dwarfs for months but have yet to even see any for sale, let alone at a decent price. Thanks for the info!

They can be expensive. But once I started the school. I began to look for opportunities to rehome the fish from other people who were taking down aquariums. About half the school was acquired this way.
