Dwarf Fortress: New Embark - (Conquering the World) 

As someone who found your videos in order to learn dwarf fortress on steam, world conquest is something I've wondered about but couldn't quite get the intracacies, can't wait to see it. And of course the ungodly fortress these dwarves build for their endless war!

if you dig into an aquifer, and there's an aquifer the level above itll keep seeping from above at the roof. youll have to go up and smooth it out at the top to stop it from leaking down

Hey Nook, when you go to place an object you don't have yet, select "show planner" from the white drop down widget, and you're immediately in old school DF hack planning mode. You can now place objects before they're built.

Good to know someone can actually conquer something in DF, most of my fortresses end up in the most hilarious disasters possible, but dwarves are stubborn we keep trying.

I initially followed you for your Dwarf Fortress content, so this is exciting to see! My first long-term fort (like, my third fort ever) is in a world that I think could benefit from me trying to overthrow my own government and conquer the other civs. This is gonna be great inspiration for how to do that. I've been using other forts to learn mechanics since I made that one, so I don't completely break that game. I really cannot overstate how inexplicably attached I am to that long-term fort already lol.

Needed a bin so cloth can be "stacked" in it.

It took a while but i managed to conquer the world, or more specifically all of the goblin civilizations. I managed to make the world pass into the age of legends right at the end of my final conquest of the last goblin civ although the timing was coincidental. The demons that rule goblin civs can only be killed by demanding surrender of the fortress which will cause one of your dwarves to either behead it or hack it to pieces. Unfortunately, there is no major achievement for conquering all of your enemies. I am now currently working on mining out the two adamantine veins on my map. I have a mountainhome fortress of 650 dwarves with a few humans, elves and goblins thrown in for good measure, with 30 melee squads and four ranged squads, all in steel with legendary abilities. I am planning to open up the circus, demolish the clowns with brute force, and then set up a full fortress in the middle of the circus. That will be my final achievement before i put down the game.
