Aww my goodness, i thought this was so cute and made me giggle with happiness so much i showed my mum and my brother. Wiglet Fuzzletuft Most Adorable. Fantastic. Thank you. Harriett.
They are perfect companions during tough economic times. They are small and always full of infinate cuteness. For a starting hamster it might be best to get a Teddybear or even a Chinese Dwarf Hamster.
i used to have one that looked just like that many many years ago! One day when i was playing my Atari (shows how many years.. lol) my brother put it on my head, i shrugged it off not realising what it was, and it broke its spine.. thats the only time i can remember crying for a pet when i was young.
That hamster was like "NOMNOM PEANUT NOMNONMOM WAIT WAT? ONLY TWO? WHERE IS REST WHER YU HIDE PEENUT WHERE YOU HIDE? STOP HIDING FROM ME I WILL FIND U STOP HIDING STOP HIDING STOP HIDING, THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE THERE MUST BE MOAAARRRR".
Our Hamster was at the beginning also e bit scared. But we "trained" every day and in the end, she even came out of her house, every time someone entered the room.
Sorry to hear that. We just lost one of our two dwarves. He looked a lot like this guy too. We think he got a respiratory infection somehow, and he struggled for about a day and a half before he just couldn't do it anymore. He died Monday (Memorial Day ironically enough).
i also had a dwarf hamster and lived like 4 years -__- and still....time passes really quick.... couldnt make up a name for it so I called her: Poop/Cute Fart
A hamster to start out. They have shorter lifespans so you can decide if they're the pet for you without a long-term commitment. I've had both and think they're both great pets, though I prefer guinea pigs because if they get loose they won't get LOST like a hamster can.
In my experience, nocturnal plays a part. Also just if they like you or not...? Hamsters don't much cotton to me, but birds glom onto me like a magnet. It's a weird animal kingdom thing. :) I wish you luck - maybe treats will get them to trust you.
