London Calling 📞 ever since finding Horror Babble ☺ TV and radio no longer exists from 7 in the evening onwards . Thank you so much 🙏 Horror Babble Bliss ......😊
I have been a lover of ghost stories and horror stories for literally as far back as I can remember. Spoken word audio drama is sadly somewhat of a forgotten art form, and I love the fact that it is still around, thanks to channels such as this. Thank you for doing what you do. I'll be listening, at night, in the dark, of course, with all of the lights out, with a glass of scotch and (hopefully) the wind and rain howling outside! 💀🌩
@@JoshuaBlach-i1u Haha that’s hilarious! Especially if he made it where he tells the story in his foreboding tone of how you and your partner met, and speculates on the horror that is to come now that you’re united in marriage 😂🤣 Or maybe tells a story about the horrors of being married. Lol I’d die laughing
"Pigeons from Hell" is one of those great stories that turns out way better than the title reveals ❤❤❤ There are lots of great stories in this collection!
It's tittle is rather silly sounding, but the man has also written all of the wonderful Conan stories, which have made misogyny comical and expands the premise from ridiculous to magical - - - a barbarian blundering about civilization and its refined cruelities cutting through its contradictions with burnished steel!!!!!
Conan by the way Considers that a steadfast consideration with the eyes of a Lady's rump preceding slapping it firmly with his open hand a stark compliment to her beauty, mystique, and personal wonder.
I am obsessed with stories in which the house is a main character! Love the haunted ones especially but Rebecca etc I love too! This is a real treat! Thank you so much for your amazing work! 💫💛💫
Absolutely love Haunted House stories. I can never get enough of them and you got more than a few here I've never heard before. I've always love Haunted House, Ghost Ship, or Sci Fi settings of the same with abandoned derelicts and space stations, as well as Antarctic base stories like "Who Goes There" (The Thing) and the Polar Horror collection you recently released. This is a a real treat Ian, thanks again. I've never heard a story you've done yet I didn't like, and this is just my type of setting.
Your excellent narrative took me in my minds eye to the house with the library, I stood in the house as an invisible guest watching and listening to the story unfold. Thank you 🌹
Ive never been a big fan of haunted house stories but these were so good...the second third or fourth time around. I forgot how good pigeons from hell is. I cant wait for this years christmas story. You always do a fine job of getting me primed for it by the end of the month. The best part is that i have a five day vacation planned for this christmas so i have only to determine which is the best day to settle in, turn up the heat and cuddle up with my cell phone for a good christmas story. Haha Cheers to everyone this christmas. Thanks to Ian and Jen for always having someting cooling on the window sill.
I love the thumbnail artwork for this video. Whenever I imagine a haunted house in a story it looks just as it does in that picture: large, dark, shrouded in mist.
Can I ask which story you mean lovely because as a very visual person I love to stare at the picture when I listen as it stops me falling asleep as an added benefit! Blessings from London, a kindred spirit! 💫🌟💫
This also is a great collection of stories. It looks like I am not the only one that always returns to HB whenever I want to bring my mind in a peaceful state before I go to sleep. 🤫😴
You absolutely deserve more recognition than received. Thank you sir. I truly appreciate all of your efforts and skill. May God bless you, and continue to bless us with the excellence that is Horror Babble.
I pondered a long time thinking that I'd heard the phrase "a pigeon from Hell". Then I remembered the lyrics "got in the house like a pigeon from Hell" from the Pretenders song "Back on the Chain Gang". WTF? Was the band into 1930's pulp horror or was it just a coincidence?? 🤔
So, the official story about that song is that it was a tribute to James Honeyman-Scott, who had recently died. That doesn't mean that it might not have had a connection to REH's story - perhaps some of the 'happiest days' were spent reading old pulp magazines?
6:36:04 The story "Pigeons From Hell" is referenced in the lyrics to The Pretenders song "Back On The Chain Gang." Circumstance beyond our control, o-o-oh, o-o-oh The phone, the TV and the news of the world Got in the house like a pigeon from Hell, o-o-oh, o-o-oh Threw sand in our eyes and descended like flies
I LOVE These stories but im still confused about the ending of the first one. So he shot himself in madness/guilt? If anyone can help a fellow horror lover id appreciate it ❤
